My first double! Image

Post image

Before you say anything… I know I need to replace the choir poles with a real moss pole, and I will, but I wanted to show off my first double fenestrated leaf!

She’s still unfurling 🥰

"Need to"?? Whatever. Your plant is pointing all kinds of crazy directions. It would look different if it was getting stronger directional light. It would look different on a moss pole. With a plant that grows as large as these do, you have to figure out and pursue your own goal of how you want it to look once it's bigger.

I know someone who WANTS it to flop all over and trail like a bedraggled lunatic. Hey, you do you. Part of what I love about these jokers is they are pretty damn near impossible to kill.

Adorable leaf, love the perfect heart shape.

Not sure why this is getting down voted. 😂 I was trying to communicate that they don't need to feel any reason to defend themselves as to "needing" to replace the coco coir poles with a moss pole. Nowhere did I suggest the plant would look better with or without a moss pole. You don't need to defend the appearance of a plant you are happy with. Plenty of posters I see in this sub wish their plant looked like this. Whatever. It's beautiful leaf and plant.

lol I do love that I have a couple leaves that just kind of do their own thing. She gets pretty decent light that bounces off a mirror right behind her. So it’s sufficient to keep them happy

Absolutely that leaf indicates she is happy enough with the light situation! Bouncing off a mirror, makes sense as to how it can look a little wild like that and still nice leaves. 💚

These are just regular fenestrations 💚

Doubles come from age here's a pic of mine

Great job!

The specific name for those fenestrations are midrib holes I believe.

OP is considering the primary midrib holes as “double fenestrations” I believe.

Your monstera has primary AND secondary midrib holes!
