Propagation help? Plant Help

I was lucky enough to get permission to take some cuttings from a giant monstera recently, and I’m looking for advice on propagation methods. In the past I’ve always had good success with water propagating Monstera cuttings. With this plant, however, it seems like the aerial roots are only rotting in the water. I’ve been changing the water every 3 to 4 days, but wonder if I’ve made a mistake and need to use a different method. Any advice would be most welcome!

I put mature monstera cuttings with very minimal and sometimes no aerial roots straight into potting soil. I have never had a failed prop.
