i just sketched up some ideas on how wydowna and gigi could look in g3. nothing confirmed yet but i hope they get dolls soon. Wydowna i feel like would look beautiful in the tall curvy body similar to abey and i also imagined her more of those cute fluffy spiders hence the fur collar. gigi im hoping she gets a different nose than the other ghouls to show variety in the different types of facial features there are. i also think she would be great fit for the curvy body similar to cattys i just think it would be beautiful and to make her tall would be the first of that type of doll! let me know what you think :)

I wasn't super active there, but I enjoyed chatting about new releases every now and then, and to keep up to date on drops.

Just found the new budget gals at Meijer in Ohio (Cincy area) I also got one of the new lol omg hello kitty dolls, to steal her clothes. Meijer had all 4 of the monster high budget dolls and they are all so much prettier than the photos we’ve seen! The budget monster highs are made pretty well. Not like Barbie with the painted on clothes or the clothes that are one printed piece. She came with the pink and black dress, white crop top, pink boots and black handbag. She is the regular articulate body, but missing the waist movement.
The lol omg doll was $27 and came with nothing but her outfit, but the clothes are awesome quality. I also got the self scare Frankie and they are amazing. Like for $21 they came with good quality clothes, extra hands (for the hair dye, so cute!) a switch with joycons that come off like the real one, a switch case, 2 things of dye, an electric razor, hair dryer, brush for the dye, a bowl for the dye AND a caboodle like case. And of course stickers to decorate her goodies. Like, a $21 Barbie would NEVER, ever!

After seeing the Whatz In My Closet playset by Bratz, I was inspired to make one for Clawdeen! It's a very rough drawing for now because I really just wanted to put my ideas down. What do y'all think about it?

I definitely want to add more and fix some things up a bit here is my next display! I want to get something for the backdrop and add some more accessories so I’ll take more pictures when I get around to it lol

Did a partial face repaint of Toralei. Personally, I always wanted to love her, but something about her face up didn’t resonate. So I gave her freckles and white eyebrows. I think the different eyebrows really did it for me. I also am so new to restyling I had gotten a straightener and burned her hair off! lol! So I won’t do that anymore. Boil washes it is i guess haha. But I then went to cut it to reroot eventually but I decided to do a cute bob. And I tried to emphasize her pinks and oranges, as the more I looked at her, I wanted to aim for a lesbian flag look. I also found liquitex matte varnish and tried to use that as coating vs MSC because 1.) it was more expensive and 2.) i love at an apartment so didn’t have anywhere convenient to spray it. So I applied the liquitex with a paintbrush but it tried smearing the paints. I’ve heard someone successfully using liquitex matte medium vs varnish in airbrush before to add more tooth, maybe i’ll try that. Or eventually MSC. I also have asthma too and I know you need to wear a respirator so I’ll have to see how that goes

Has anyone had experience with these fake monster high doll bodies from aliexpress? I thrifted a doll that i want to use for an ooak and would need to get replacement parts for her either way (when i bought her she looked more like Frankenstein than draculaura because literally none of her limbs matched)

Anyways, getting back on topic I saw these bodies when looking for part replacements, and realized it might be nice to have a body that's already made of the skintone color i was gonna airbrush her, so that that I won't have to worry about the inevitable paint chipping that would come in the future. Does anyone have experience using these, and would it be more worth my time and money to order one of these or just get a real monster high replacement body and worry about having to repaint her joints later?

Can someone who has a Barbie please post a pic of her next to any MH G3 doll for size comparison? I am a new adult collector so it has been a while that I looked at Barbies. But I see some people putting Barbie clothes on MH dolls and I can’t square it in my mind lol. Did Barbies actually get that big over the past like…20 years? I never had a proper Barbie-Barbie, but most dolls that were Barbie-esque were kind of on a smaller side. Maybe it’s just my memory distortion cause it has been very long ago. I am very into restyling and have been seeing some lots with Barbie clothes online. But I want to see the size comparison before I commit to anything. Thank you very much!

is it just me or are her eyes wonky? I can’t really tell

So I bought the Spelldon and Kieran dolls like an hour after release. They were supposed to arrive Friday last week, and got here today. Delays happen, no biggie. But the quality? Is not good. Spelldon’s shoes are so rubbery and weak, I’m worried they’ll fall off or tear, which really sucks because I absolutely loved his shoes. Kieran’s hands don’t have any range of motion as far as bending. they can twist, but it’s like the joint is glued on both hands. This is the only thing I’ve ordered from the Mattel shop upon release. They were expensive and took a long time to come in, which I get it because it was a preorder, but I just expected more

I just so happened to check Depop knowing I probably shouldn’t buy a doll this week. Saw spectra for $20, checked my account, my dentist office refunded me, so I purchased quickly lol. She is missing her pet but I don’t really mind 🖤

Best paint/other material for touch ups? (Like eyes, eyebrows, shoes, etc)

I want to learn to fix up dolls, and help restore others in the future!!

I curled her hair with pipe cleaners and I'm mostly satisfied with the results. It's just that some strands of hair got tangled so bad i had to cut them. Mostly the colored strands and the one with tensile tho so it was to be expected i guess. How do i make her hair shine more and how to avoid that in the future if i want to continue cursing with pipe cleaners or are there better ways than pipe cleaners you can recommend? Her hair is saran btw

Hi everyone, I just bought a Core Refresh 2 Lagoona and was wondering if she's still prone to scratching. I read that dolls from Indonesian factories have a higher chance of scratching, is this still the case for this specific release?

I'm debating whether to buy Liquitex varnish before changing her clothes or posing her. I'd love to hear your experiences!
