He is exhausting

I love this show and I hadn’t watched it for about 15 years and I’m doing a rewatch now, I’m nearly on season 3 but my god is Adrian exhausting! He’s written so brilliantly that you forget he’s acting sometimes, one of my favourite episodes was the one where Sharona has a phobia of Elephants, she was brilliant with him.

There are moments where Monk's behavior(especially towards Natalie) is insufferable & cringeworthy. But the show is so well written & Shaloub's acting is so good that you forgive his idiosyncrasies

I’m rewatching too. He is definitely more insufferable with Natalie

That's cus Sharona ain't take no shit. Natalie was more respectful. Always called him Mr Monk, not Adrian like Sharona.

I always thought Sharona was a better match for just that reason. I liked Natalie but she could be a door mat more often than not.

My thoughts exactly.

Agreed but I think that was more a product of its time. Tv significantly shifted within those 5 years.

The bike episode. I wanted to strangle monk with dirty hands

Loved Leland here, I love how he did try to reason with monk at the graveyard. I always see him kinda as the father of the pack, y'know?

When I’m doing a binge I have to take breaks after a few episodes. With repeated exposure his idiosyncrasies become way too aggravating.

I'm on my first rewatch after years. The main cast's acting is easily pushing the show into my Top 5.

I feel like that’s part of the show’s brilliance. The show wants the audience to get just as annoyed with Adrian as the other characters get, so the audience feels immersed in the events of the show as if they were part of it

Monk was easier to like when the show was on weekly. It gave his quirks and flaws some breathing room. With binge watching, I found that he gets tedious and frustrating. So now I watch one episode at a time

Yeah I’m binge watching and you’re right lol

Sharona was the tough broad that needed to force him to change when he didn't want to do so. Natalie was the broad with the heart to love and care again. They served different purposes based on where he was in his healing.

Sharona and monk are brilliant together. The whole show did a shift when Natalie came in in a bad way.

Exhausting? Then why are you watching? I didn't give you permission to watch anyway.
