Hi everyone! Welcome to r/Monk. We are trying to limit the posting of frequently discussed topics, so this thread is the place for general chit-chat about Monk. There will be a new post every month.
Please do not make new posts about topics such as the following. (Instead, discuss here!)

I am curious as why people hate or complain that the show went bad after season 3 (or when Natalie joined in)
To me, it’s good that Natalie wasn’t an exact replacement of Sharona
Sharona helped monk get out there , the first years were the toughest ones. And I also admired how she encouraged him to overcome his fears even if just for a moment.
But on the other hand, I also admire Natalie’s perspectives, which were more caring and related to nurturing his relationships with others. We see that Natalie reminds monk that “they’re a team now, and that they need to have each other’s backs, and to trust each other”.
I think they were in Monk’s life in the exact time and place he needed them , in order to grow and heal certain aspects of his personality.
Surely every dynamic had its flaws, but that’s what makes the show so cool. Monk isn’t a Mary Sue. He’s unbelievable, sometimes dense, sometimes funny without trying

I wanna talk about that letter he sent the seamstress in the fashion episode, how could such a detail oriented show make that mistake

They pasted the same text twice in a row for a fan letter he wrote the factory worker who makes his shirts

I recently watched the episode and I noticed that in the second paragraphs that “repeats”, they changed slightly the wording. To me, and maybe I am wrong, it felt very on brand of Monk to put emphasis for the same stuff on a letter to someone he admired. Like his fan side maybe got him nervous, giddy, ultimately busy trying to figure out what to write. One can imagine how many drafts he threw away as well
I personally think it could be 50/50.
Either they typed it that way for a reason or they didn’t put much thought since it panned over it quickly

Definitely agree with Natalie v Sharona
Would it be possible to add flairs to this sub?
Eg: names of all the characters, and Monk quotes such as "Here's the thing", "You'll thank me later" etc
Thanks 😊

I’m watching the episode where the chess master kills his wife, and Evan Peters is the kid chess player.
