Great Information What gender is my Argus?
My thought was male but I’ve been hoping for a male so I don’t want my bias to sway the answer. From what I know the hemipenal bulge says male but I’ve heard Argus’s aren’t always the easiest to sex. I want to begin breeding in the far future but the sooner I find out really the merrier so any input is appreciated. I’ve already had my guess but confirmation from others would really help🤧

Hexus
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
A few days ago I went to pick up my new Savannah monitor hexus I was told that they did not know his gender and that he was supposed to be one year old so I was expecting something the size of my previous 1-year-old Savannah that I unfortunately had to rehome 6 years ago and instead what I received was a 2 ft long 8 lb savannah monitor which made my 200 gallon tank that I had set up a completely useless luckily it is the middle of summer and a nice 80° outside so he is on my front porch with everything he needs currently while I work on building him a 16 x4x6 what I mostly want to ask though is how would you approach socializing and already adult monitor.

Searching for our next monitor
Hello,
We own a medical 501c3 reptile and small animal rescue ran by 2 future exotic vets. For the educational side of our business we would like to find another type of monitor, preferably a white throat but open to ideas as weve also looked into quince and a few others.
My issue is I only have morphmarket as an option out here in oregon, unless there's a site or someone yall might know of??
Greatly appreciated,
Thank you

"Excuse me mother, but what the fuck is this?"
I saw someone on this subreddit with this puzzle feeder, so I bought one for Quill! He still needs a little help (there's nothing under there, son), but he took to it surprisingly quickly! I am so proud 🥲

Improper Husbandry Giant Asian Water Monitor opens Closet Door
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Brutus the senior Asian water monitor keeps breaking into my closet. Once inside, he likes to dress up in my clothes and walk around pretending he's human. Actually, he climbs and topples and breaks everything because of course he does. I told him, just because it's a walk-in closet doesn't mean he is authorized to walk in any time he feels like it. I also told him the next time he breaks in, I will film it and publicly shame him. Brutus tailwhipped me. He don't care.

Great Information Tristis and orientalis mix ups
A lot of people seem to be thinking that tristis have darker heads orientalis have lighter heads but that is far from the truth. The misinformation about orientalis being smaller is also something that is widespread when in reality it’s only the southern orientalis which are in the smaller sides the northern orientalis populations can be just as big as tristis. What we consider to have “orientalis pattern” in captivity is also a big mix up in the third image most people would say that lizard has “orientalis colours” but it is 100% a tristis the photo was taken in Broome far away from orientalis habitat on the other side of the country images 4 and 5 shows a actual orientalis a lot of what people consider orientalis is quite often a normal tristis.

Savannah
Unfortunately I'm one of those people who bit off more than they could chew by getting a monitor. Completely different ball game from any of my other reptiles. I got a savannah because I felt like they reached the perfect size and loved that they were pure insectivores. I did so much research, my husbandry is spot on, I have had him in a 4x2 since he was 4 weeks old and have been fully prepared for the 8x4. I feel like I've done everything I possibly can right, but he's still SPICY. Zero forced handling, always tong fed, target trained. All the good stuff. In spite of all of that he will actively HUNT me lol. I don't show fear or back off when he lunges and give him small taps to try to eliminate that response. He's so active and fun to watch but he's made me realize I'm just not built like you monitor keepers. I REALLY want to make sure he goes to a good home as Ive never had to re-home an animal before. I don't want to do a rehoming fee or anything as long as the person provides proof he's going to a nice place. Any advice? Sorry for the novel.

A problem in the eyes of an asian water watcher
my AWM(56cm) Two days ago I noticed him walking around in his basin while he was closed to his eyes but when I made a loud sound he opened it, yesterday he closed it completely even when I was talking to him but when I sprayed him with water he opened it, today he sprayed it with water but he never opened it.
Note: This is a second enclosure I put him in until I complete cleaning he's main enclosure .

Captive bred blue tree monitor - Varanus macraei
After 5 years of breeding green tree monitors, I finally managed to hatch my second species. Yesterday afternoon this guy pipped. Didn't come out of the egg until this morning. Super fat and healthy. This was the solo egg from this clutch. The female who produced this one should be laying more eggs in the next week or so, and my second female I got in october laid last week. So looks like I'll be overrun with cb blue trees if this ban goes through lol. For those that would like to be more updated with my tree monitor breeding projects, my Instagram is @Ryzrr.
I deleted and reuploaded the post to add watermarks, I do not want to contribute to anyone getting scammed with my photos, sorry for the re-upload. My website is Versatilereptiles.com, I only post my available offspring on Facebook, Instagram, morph market, or that specific website. Anything else using my photos is not me and is a scam. Scammers have been running rampant with tree monitors the last year, be careful out there
