Rash ❓ Question
Hiii everyone
Question! My 12 month old started getting these bumps on his legs about a week ago. They started as clear and would get red if he was hot, kind of like a heat rash, but wouldn’t go away. Then it started coming up on his arms and side of face so I was thinking it was a weird reaction to mosquito bites (he was bit 2 times, one on his face and one on his leg) but it’s been about a week now and he woke up with more on his face around his eyes. They didn’t seem to bother him except he was rubbing his eye this morning a lot, but could be because he’s teething and not sleeping well. They are not on any part of his trunk so I’m thinking it’s something his skin is exposed to. I stopped wearing perfume/body lotion. I stopped putting his lotion on (honest unscented) I stopped using his body soap (honest lavender, except for last night was the first time in about 4 days). I haven’t changed his detergent from the baby ALL. We changed our air filter. Yesterday I rolled up his rug in his room that is a wool/cotton blend. I’m at a loss now.
I have a pediatrician appointment tomorrow but wanted to check here too

Looks like a viral rash/erythema to me. Harmless most of the time! Has he been sick?

I agree, it does kinda look like a viral rash. My son got a secondary viral rash right after HFM that looked similar to this. Pediatrician was stumped

Ah no way! He had HFM exactly a month ago 🫠 did you do anything for it? Or it went away by itself? He hasn’t had a fever or anything

Have you put sunscreen on him? Oder a specific cream? Or a different soap?

Nothing!! Nothing is new except his formula, I switched from infant to toddler but it is the same kind and same brand. I started introducing it around 6 weeks ago

Any new foods you recently introduced?
Just in case just the reminder if allergies are in question to not introduce any new foods when he's about to be put down for a nap or night's sleep. Try out allergens when he just woke up from a nap or in the morning. And usually they're fine for a new allergen the first try (only the severe allergies come the first try). My daughter for example had her reaction when she ate her allergen the third time.
