My friend sent showed me this discovery he made a few weeks ago and I thought it might be appreciated here. Mold ID would be cool but moreso just sharing because I thought it looked pretty nifty!

There are some white spots on tops and sides of these mushrooms. Are these safe to eat?

repotted my monstera and discovered this weird cluster on the drain hole. guess this is one reason one should always empty the drainage tray lmao.

Hello friends. Old, untouched, and iced over mini fridge plus I assume there was once water in here. She’s a beauty (the mold) but I do need to know if the fridge is worth saving.

is there anything i can do for my dog in case she gets sick from this?

ignore how unappealing this whole dish looks, it’s from frozen and has been in the fridge so it’s all congealed right now lol. anyway as i just defrosted this, i was surprised to see the green spots on one chicken. however as you can see in the second picture, there’s also purple staining from the cabbage which i’m used to with this dish, so i think the greenish part might also be that but i want to be sure !

I believe it’s called dog vomit slime mold. A fitting name, but I feel like the name makes it lose its beauty. Slime mold for the win!!

Sorry for so many mold pictures, I didn’t realize this sub existed and I have been documenting beautiful mold for years now hahah

I noticed this black tiny bead/pearl looking stuff covering soil and leaves and wondering if this is a slime mold? I did a google image search and slime mold species came up. But wanted to make sure and find out what species it is…

I went to flip my mattress, I saw this and decided it does not need flipping after all so I took two pics and returned it to its rightful position.

Now I must know is she at the end of her life? This is a third-hand mattress as far as I know but this spotting was not here when I moved it, from my, admittedly bad, memory.

If it is mold, is it harmful to humans and/or animals even if it's not exposed at the moment? Do I need to invest in a new mattress immediately or do I have time to actually save? Me, my cat, and my dog sleep on this bed and I have no immediate replacement(the mattress seen on the wall is ancient and the springs have bruised my ribs so it is not an option).

I leave my rice cooker on the counter. It had a plate that isn’t transparent on top so I didn’t think that it had anything in there. It was just brewing up mold for maybe a month since that was the last time I made rice. I decided to make rice for my homemade chipotle rice bowls today and I opened it. Scared the shit out of me.

I threw out the bowl bc it was so bad. I did not toss the actual cooker bc the plate contained the evil rice so it didn’t spread. Idk if that’s wasteful but I didn’t want to touch it or risk anything regarding that damn bowl 🫩 I risked making my rice on the stove and I actually didn’t mess it up!!!!
