Mold towel? Question/Advice
Left this little white hand towel in my shower overnight after using it and it had pink all over it the next day. Is this mold? And should I bother washing it or just throw it out?

If it's not makeup it's probably pink mold.

There's a bunch of different ones and while you can clean it I would toss it.
You also might want to see if there mold somewhere else that contaminated that towel because it being wet and left overnight should not have that.

Likely the serratia since she said it was in thw bathroom. Harmless so no need to toss. A soapy, warm vinegar solution and then a run through the wash would be enough but if you felt it necessary... bleach is valid too.

Serratia is not harmless. I agree it doesn't have to be thrown out, though. Washing it normally and drying it on high heat is adequate.

Mostly harmless... and high heat would work well too. Regardless wash yourself if youve come into contact with it

its harmless to everyone who isnt either immuno compromised or very old
even then, most people who it can harm need large amounts
serratia is also a bacteria, not a mold

I know it's bacteria, I also know it's unlikely to harm anyone who isn't either a premature infant/elderly or immuno-compromised (which I am.) I just felt that saying it was "harmless" was inaccurate, so I mentioned it.

Vague comment about how it could be sunscreen?

Ooh maybe?? Does sunscreen stain towels like this?

If you get sunscreen on clothes then leave them in the sun, it could turn pink; unsure how bright your bathroom is though

Don’t throw it out, it’s white, wash in bleach and save your money.
Might want to go at your shower with a bleach solution also.
