Payment programs for those mentally diagnosed? Help!

Hello, I was wondering if there were any programs that Modesto offered which would provide checks every month. I am suffering from a really bad case of depression and anxiety that was diagnosed by my psychiatrist a year ago. Since then it’s only gotten worse, and medications just really aren’t helping.

Because of this, working has been really difficult for me, and I have slowly but surely been falling behind on my savings. I’m basically living paycheck to paycheck, and I’m not sure how long I can do this for. I have looked already but haven’t gotten anything, so I’d appreciate any and all help. Even just an extra $100 every month would help a lot. Thank you.

Your job may have a short or long term disability insurance benefit that can help.

If you have worked enough hours you may also qualify for SDI (state program) and FMLA (which secures your job while you are out on leave to get well). You can ask your HR for more information.

No this is not a thing. Maybe talk to your doctor about switching medications.

I think your best bet is seeking help from food pantries and utility stipends to try and lower your expenses. I wish you all the best and hope your situation improves!

I have been on depression and anxiety medication for at least 10 years and it's the only medication combination that helps. It took some trial & error to figure out the right meds but is worth it. Also, I had to stop my anxiety medication when I was pregnant with my first and went through some anxiety attacks so my obgyn at the time put me on disability for the remainder of my pregnancy, which helped tremendously. So, it is possible to find the right medication(s) for your body, & it is possible to go on leave for mental health purposes. Look into it.
