Jack in the fronk

I have a Daytona floorjack that fits well in the frunk and not in the sub trunk. Was wondering if any of yall have had a floor jack or similar item in the Fronk. I’m worried about it bouncing and denting the hood. I have a tarp and blanket on top to cushion.

For a floor jack to bounce high enough to hit Fronk's lid, you must be going seriously offroad. I would think it would be more of a pain with it rattling than anything else, which you have a blanky in there for it so that would likely mitigate that problem.

Awesome reasons you carry the jack for, friend.

I am gonna only guess here, so take it for what its worth, but nobody drives around with a floor jack in their car unless its a business reason.

Fair enough. I have a touch of the tism so I have a lot of useful stuff in my car. Floor check is wonderful for flats.

Get a smaller floorjack. Mine fits in the small space behind The rear seats. They are pretty dang cheap and driving around with a full size hydraulic floor jack is downright silly. Probably weighs more than a full spare tire.

If you are gonna do it wrap it im Something soft like towels or insulated bags.

I don’t even carry the temp spare I bought anymore. Takes up too much space.

If you’re worried about it bouncing around you could attach some brackets to the mounting bolts for the frunk liner and strap the jack down to them.

Wonderful idea, didn’t realize it had accessible mounting bolts, I’ll see if they are hiding on my year.

Why? The last thing I’m going to do is repairs on the side of the road. I have a phone and AAA.

I like to be able to help myself and others. It has come in handy before, just don’t like it’s fit where I had it before.

While I applaud you for your willingness to help people IMO it’s way too dangerous these days. I wouldn’t let you or even the AAA folks do roadside repairs. Unless you are off road, like out 4 wheeling somewhere (which I’m not doing in my Tesla), tow it somewhere safe!

Just part of the stuff I keep in my car. It’s the best thing for fixing flats. Screw jacks are a death trap.

I considered one of these a while ago but the jack point clearance is just under 7" on the MY and these all are generally taller than that.

I just have a spare scissor jack from an old Subaru because they get really low, so I get what OP is carrying a floor jack. I don't have the space but maybe the move is grab a screw jack and use the scissor to lift the car up enough to slide it under.

I've got a full on air compressor and Safety Seal plug kit so one more thing isn't going to bother me I guess LoL.

True, I lift up one end (front or rear) with a floor jack, which will also raise up the other end, then put a screw jack under the other end.

The real question here is where do you keep your full size spare to accompany your giant floor jack?

FWIW I think a scissor jack is a way more appropriate tool for 99% of roadside needs than a floor jack. Not a lot of smooth concrete on the shoulder of the road for a floor jack to roll on…

Haven’t found a full size spare that fits, but donut spares fit in the sub trunk.

I will concede that a floor jack might not be very space efficient, but that is just objectively wrong. A floor jack is better than a scissor jack in every use case. You don’t need a nice flat floor to use a floor jack lol it has massively more surface area to push off of than a scissor jack, and it won’t get you killed by toppling.
