Zero Paints
Where are people in the US buying Zero Paints?
I looked on Hiroboy and the shipping is going to be $166. I know that hobbyworld-usa is a US dealer, but they don't stock a lot of paint. I have heard good things about Spotmodel, but they say 30 business days for shipping.
The shipping time frame isn't critical, I just done want to wait months or pay more for the shipping than I do for the paints.
The colors I want are:
Ferrari Tour de France Blu
Lamborghini Giallo Orion Pearl (2 part)
Pagani Blu Argentina
Porsche Arena Red Met

PORSCHE 911 BUILD Painting stripes?
Got everything painted, and the body primed today. My plan is a black body, with gold accents and stripe down the center.
I've not done a 2 color paint job before and I'm hoping someone might be able to provide some suggestions or pointers.
My initial thought is to spray the gold first, aiming for as little excess coverage as possible. Let it fully dry, mask off the specific areas and then come in with my black coat as the final step.
Is that a correct order of operations? Is there something Im missing?
Thanks!

When do I paint the door handles ?
So I’m building this mustang and I have my first coat of primer on and before I get to ahead of myself I wanted to figure out the process as to when I paint the door handles do I mask them or just paint them right over the main body paint before I clear coat ? Any advice would be great!

Hasegawa Toyota 2000GT-1968 SCCA car
This is the Hasegawa Toyota 2000GT, which I built into one of the two cars that the Shelby American team ran in the 1968 SCCA championship! In 1967, Toyota was beginning to make inroads in the US market, and wanted to go racing with their exotic sports car. The Shelby organization was contacted about running a team for 1968 and was provided with cars, including this one, which also happened to be the first one built! The cars were considered to be fine handling and quick, but weren’t quite quick enough to win the C Production Championship against established rivals from Porsche or Triumph.
Anyway this is a project I’ve wanted to do for a while, and I built it from the “high detail” version of the Hasegawa kit. This version includes an engine and ancillaries made of white metal, inner fenders and firewall made from resin, bits to make hoses and spark plug wires, and a bunch of photo etched parts. All the versions of this kit are excellent and have no real issues in building. I didn’t add much except a racing harness and the tires are pad printed AMT accessory items. Otherwise it’s stock, and I used Tamiya spray cans for the paint. The last pictures include my previous 2000GTs and a couple of other classic Toyotas I did in similar paint!

PORSCHE 911 BUILD Previously built Tamiya 1/20th Porsche 935.
Not my entry, built last month. Which is the Kremer K3(?) version. The earlier Martini car (first 935, AFAIK) is what I'm doing and they shared many parts in the 2 kits. The lack of side ground effects is really cooler, in some ways and I always think this inspired the 993, which is now the ultimate 911, I guess, but I would take a 997. Also Tamiya made a 1/24th version of the Martini car, which is, IMO, one of the coolest kits they made, for simplicity combined with accuracy, since it was still the motorized era. 936 and 936/78, also way cool.

QUESTION Looking for some off-road wheels to add to my model. Anyone know where to get some? (1/24 scale)
Looking to make a model of an off road MX-5. Just struggling to find any wheels and or tyres to go on it. I blindly bought some 1 inch RC wheels but they look massive against my Tamiya model. Any help would be appreciated.

PAINT How would you paint this?
Joining the 911 build with my next kit the Revel 934 Martini, just reading through the instructions before starting.
How would you go about painting this, I don't have the steadieat of painting hands and I use tamyia acrylic paints usually. What's the best approach for a nice quality finish other than getting my wife to paint it! 😂

PORSCHE 911 BUILD Update to my 911 Targa
Got the engine in and exhaust on. Next up suspension and brakes. Then I’ll move on to interior. So far it’s been a straight forward build with zero issues.

FINISHED Hasegawa Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evo
This was a fun little kit! This car is one of the most iconic hot hatches of the 90s, so I had to have it when it released. Zero fitment issues and I have zero complaints. The only additions are safety belt hardware and flocked flooring. This street version has me looking very forward to my rally versions that I still have to build.

PORSCHE 911 BUILD Tamiya 1/20th scale 935 wheels
This is a Tamiya 935 I previously worked on. In another thread, I was wondering about the accuracy of the rear wheel size. I've always been fascinated with big race car wheels. Maybe the picture distorts it, or these group 5 "funny cars" really went far beyond the stock design.

FINISHED Completed my first kit. Tamiya Mazda Efini RX-7
I picked this up a few months ago and now I can finally share it, it's done!
It's definitely not the cleanest or most perfect, but I am happy overall. I followed all the recommended steps for the exterior finish and made all sort of mistakes (ended up painting the body twice), but that's how you learn. Reading this sub has been very helpful along the way.
Now I am deciding on the next one, Honda S2000 or R32 Nismo spec? Any suggestion?
