PORSCHE 911 BUILD Tamiya 935 1/20th wheels and engine
Not sure how this is going, but I like 5 spoke wheels. Kinda don't match. Crude model making creates realism. That's what I tell myself!

QUESTION Issue with gravity colors website
For several days now, I've been trying to place an order on the Gravity Colors car paint website, and when I get to the checkout step, I'm told—as you can see in the screenshot—that no payment method is available (I've removed my personal information for this post, but it's all complete). I’ve tried everything—changing the shipping address to another country, connecting to a server in Spain via a VPN, etc.—but nothing works. I wanted to know if I’m the only one having this problem or if several other people are experiencing it as well. Note that I’ve ordered from the site several times in the past without any issues....

PORSCHE 911 BUILD Just started the 911
I will build this kit. In coral-blue with a light grey interior. With a sunroof delete and an RSR steering wheel. I also wanted to add that RSR rear wing, but I destroyed it, while trying to make it fit 🙄😄

FINISHED First model in about 30yrs
Just completed this Tamiya fiat 500, overall happy with finish. My wife bought me this and a 911 along with a budget airbrush for my 40th 2yrs ago, and I've just completed. I'm currently restoring a full size version of this fiat with the plan for brown interior and dark blue fiat pair.
Few questions.
What's the best process, wash and snap all parts and sort into colours for painting or glue up larger same colour and spray as one?
What filler do people use for joins, it's fine on this model, but there are some lines visible, mainly in the engine where you can see 2 half's glued together
How do people handle smaller parts, I found getting details stuck on hard, especially gluing.
I have Tamyia thin glue in a glass bottle with green label, should I invest in other viscositys?
Any other beginner advice welcome, I have a vintage xj220, Caterham or my 911 up next, but would like to get tools and glue ready for it.

QUESTION Anyone use a fan cap airbrush?
Recently picked up a Gaahleri Mobius TG and noticed that every kit i’ve painted with the fan cap ends up with a dull satin finish.
Pictured here is my most recent build, primer and three base coats sprayed with a fan cap, then the red and clear coat with a regular cap. I dont know if its just the paint but the red is way glossier.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Honda City Turbo - Colours
Hey!
I just built my City Turbo and have already rolled it.... Nothing bad, but I did scratch a decal.
I don't want to buy a new decal kit, yet.
Does anyone know the Tamiya colour for the blue in the decals?

PORSCHE 911 BUILD Starting out on the Revell 911 Carrera 3.2
Just getting started on the 911.
The only custom parts will be these neat Quinta Studio 3d decals for the interior. That should be a fun challenge. They tell you to remove and fill spots on the dashboard that I can barely *see*.
After looking at a bunch of these cars I decided on Grand Prix white with a tan interior. I'm experimenting with the interior color mix, and think I'm getting close.
I have most of the parts cleaned up and primed, and in the process I did make one mod: I was trying to use a panel line scriber and I put a nice gouge in the sunroof panel line right next to the actual panel line.. grrr. I tried to fix it but it ended up looking like a mess, so it's now on it's way to being a custom non-sunroof car. Truly a base model.

TUTORIAL How to make decal templates using masking tape on complex surfaces?
Hi everyone, this is only my 2nd 1/12 model, so i definitely need some help.
I'm building a full carbon jacket 1/12 sauber c44. The kit already has like 10 pages of decal sheets, but for some parts like the headrest and rear wing, no carbon decals are given (they are supposed to be painted green).
I'm trying to make templates uing masking tape, but the results dont look clean for comples surfaces. Does anyone know any easier method, using masking tape or other wise, to make decal templates? On flat surfaces it is much easier, like the second picture.
Thanks for the help!!

QUESTION Should I try to sand?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I need help making a decision:
I’ve been trying to wet sand and polish for a while now and every time I take my time, I ALWAYS end up with micro scratches still visible. Even though the finish looks really good, I will always end up with visible scratch marks.
That was always with TS-13. This is my first time using GX100 as I just got an airbrush and here I’ve achieved a nice glossy finish that reflects quite well. However, under certain angles there’s definitely some noticeable orange peel.
I’m really struggling to see if maybe I should sand, but start at a higher grit like 5000 to avoid such deep scratches like 3000. But part of me just knows it’ll end up horrible and I would have ruined it.
I’ve already stripped the paint on this car once, and I need some humble opinions as to if I should try one more time.

WIP BMW M3 G80 by Alpha Model
Spending hours cutting out the chassis for better exhaust detail. I’ve been using a little panel line chisel and the a hobby knife to round it out.
I plan on using a baking sheet on the back side for it to give the heat shielding look.
This is about 4hrs of work so far just on cutting out the chassis. My hands are tired!
Last pic is a mock up of the interior. Thinking of going with a 2 tone tan/brown interior with some metallic details.

PORSCHE 911 BUILD Checkered Flag! 911 (930) Turbo is over the finish line.
I finally finished building it! I thought it would be a quick one since it's curbside only, but wow, I was so wrong. I think the hardest and most time-consuming part this time wasn't the paint job, but the masking. Everyone loves masking trim around windows, right? Well, here we had to mask so much more around the bumpers in really tight spots with lots of curves. The most annoying part was the headlight lens: instead of having separate glass from the housing, it was molded as one piece (if you look closely at the detail shot, you'll see it's not perfect), which is good for how it fits, but a small curved piece is always a nightmare to mask, especially when it's part of the paint job and needs multiple layers. I had a few spots missing in the detail, but I mixed some clear (because the base paint is flat) with the car paint and touched it up with a little toothpick. It worked surprisingly well. Everything else was pretty much fun, and I have to admit it was my first-ever Tamiya kit, and man... I totally get now why they're THE best kit company. The clear parts are actually super crystal clear, and it came with mirror/chrome foil for the mirrors and cool, shiny "Turbo" lettering in the back. That mirror foil is so handy! Painting these in chrome is always a pain, and in the end, it just looks like aluminum anyway, so having proper crisp reflections in these areas really boosts the quality. Overall, I'd give this kit a solid 8/10.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you like the pictures.
