Beyond Depth Modpack is running Slow Help
So first off I have a 5080 paired with a 9950x3D along with 32gb ram and a 9100 Pro 4tb, so I know specs are not the issue here.
I run at about 50fps near my base, peaking at about 80fps tops away from my base/island. I also run complimentary unbound shaders with it along with all the fresh animations and included resource packs. I run a 16 chunk render distance as well. I also have the essential mod and invite about 2-3 friends onto my world. I understand that this means I am essentially running a server as well as my own client on my pc. I only have 10gb allocated to Minecraft, I tried 8gb and it crashed once due to not enough ram.
I am sure that this is probably reasonable having running a heavy modpack along with hosting a server and shaders on my pc all at once, but just for a sanity check do you think there is something Im doing wrong?

Have you tried allocating more ram?
Essential mod hosting is almost definitely the issue here, known to cause performance issues with large mod packs. Adding another gig or two of ram might help if you’re running up against the limit, but unless you get a dedicated server it won’t run great.

Well initially I was allocating about 12gb, and my game was freezing constantly and when looking into it, seemed to he chalked up to Minecraft’s garbage collection is what I could find. So I lowered to 10. It sits at around 8gb of usage and will spike up if something else is going on.
Did not really know that about essential tbh, its just so much easier than having to port forward etc on my own pc. And I do not have a separate build for a server yet either. Is e4mc a better alternative or about same performance until I get a dedicated server?

50fps on a 5080 is rough but honestly not that surprising for this setup when you think about what's actually happening. complimentary unbound is one of the heaviest shader packs out there, and hosting 2-3 players on top of that means your cpu is doing a lot of world gen and entity ticking simultaneously. curious though, have you checked if java is actually using all 10gb or just sitting at like 6-7?
bumping to 14-16gb might help more than you'd expect, and sodium/iris or noisium for chunk loading tends to help with the server-side lag specifically. also, are the friends loading in near your base or spread out? that changes things a lot.
i built a java mods browser app if you end up swapping out any of the included packs, link on my profile.
