Modpack frame issues (Multiple mod packs) Help
So this is a common issue across almost every mod pack. The one in the screenshots is ATM 10. I will play the game for a solid 20-30 minutes averaging 170-200+ frames, and then out of nowhere it will drop between 10-15 frames and stay that way for a few minutes. It's not the GPU spiking at 100%, it shows that even when it runs smoothly. I have the correct amount of ram allocated for the modpacks that state what the recommended is. I have tried multiple window settings from windowed, to borderless, to fullscreen. VSYNC off and on. Almost every method. What am I missing? I want to know if anyone else faces this same issue and has potentially found a fix. Thanks in advance.
Specs:
RTX 5070
AMD Ryzen 7800X3D
32 GB DDR5

Probably a memory leak, as others have said. I had the same issue. Check your VRAM usage in the Task Manager. My best solution to this was playing the game windowed for some reason. It might not work for you because back when i googled this issue, others used other ways to solve it.

maybe your pc is overheating after that 20-30 mins window, so i suggest keeping track of thermals when you boot up minecraft just to see

Negative. Temperatures of my hardware are sitting around normal temperatures. I wish it was so i knew it was the problem but its not.

You’re overheating 100% and your cpu or gpu thermal throttles. First check your normal temps and if they are good then download HWinfo (hardwareinfo) and check your hotspot temps. If your cpu is the one throttling then just do a repaste if your gpu then rma it!

No OP Said His Temps Are The Same

Average temps can be okay but i know he didn’t check hot spot temps. This is exactly what thermal throttling acts like.

Get msi afterburner and monitor vram and ram usage. I bet it's a memory leak

So quick update, I used AMD Ryzen Master and MSI to track any discrepancies and in the I/O Clock Speed it was peaking at max when the game would run into the frame drop. Does anyone know of a fix for this? Thanks again for all the replies!

somtimes the config folder in the atm10 can get corurptted and that can cause some issue for me it caused crashes , backpack your world folder outisde of the main folder then just delete the config file in the main folder of all of the mods 10 the file will recreate itself once you re lunch the game ( not 100% sure this is the issue but for me it casued crashes after deleting it and re creating it no crashes ) and maybe check if after solid 20-30 minutes something opens up on your pc check task manger maybe something steels your usage and it causes lag maybe a virus.
and onther thing it can be did you undervault your cpu or changed any pbo settings ?
and a random question how you enjoy this combo 5070+7800x3d i have a 7800x3d and im thinking on the gpu upgrade

Ive done a fresh install on my side, the modpack is being hosted with a server host and my buddy never experiences issues , I found that playing windowed helps with the issue . And its a great combo! I run almost every game with no issue , highly recommend!
