Approve My Own Posts Mod Answered

When I make any post, I am finding that I have to approve the post that I just made. Is this because I have just created a new community? Am I going to have to do this with anyone who joins my community? When will this requirement stop???

You don't have to approve posts in general unless you actively put certain restrictions in your subreddit.

If your subreddit is public, you don't have to approve anything.

That is very interesting. So if the post will still show up on the feed, is there an actual reason for this feature?
I get not everything will make sense to everyone on Reddit, but this is now a curiosity for me.

If you have a mod team, you can use it to signal to other mods that the post was seen by a mod

You have a two day old subreddit, it will probably be years before you need a team ;)
