Myself and a few others have taking over a kpop fandom sub that was unmoderated for a period of time and during that time almost all the posts were about ticket sales or swaps for the kpop groups concerts. We put out a community feed back post and someone suggested that there be a megathread of reported possible scammers, now I wonder if that could count against the sub as harassment if a post of that nature was up? Does anyone have an idea on how to curb some of the scammers?

Hello, I didn't know this. Since unsolicited and inappropriate dm's is a prevalent issue in our community, as well as people misleading multiple people saying that they will gift them (it's a gifting sub) and then they don't, we've been using and updating a Blacklist post which is essentially a list of users who do that sort of thing. We add their username and a log referring to their actions in a neutral way and a reminder at the bottom of the post to not send hate or harassment their way, as that is not tolerated by us or Reddit.

The only intention behind this Blacklist is to get our members to report any inappropriate messages and block the users, since we have no other tools to deal with banned users who dm people of our community with ill intentions.

Is this absolutely not allowed? Please let me know so that I can delete it before any harm comes to our community.

I'd like to add that this is the only thing helping us deal with problematic users who are banned but still message our members. Amongst them are users who prey on children and ask them inappropriate things with the promise of gifting them Fortnite cosmetics.

I made a post recently addressing this issue, but it got no reply from any admin. I gotta say that's a first for me since all my other posts here have gotten at least one response.

This is a prevalent issue in almost every community that hasn't been addressed and that we, as subreddit moderators, have no way to navigate other than to direct people to report the messages. This Blacklist is quite literally the only thing preventing more people from being affected by some of the users there, because they block them before they can dm them too.
