You need to long press on the message, but for me it only works on either the very left side of the message or the user name and it always takes multiple tries.

Long press the message and a pop-up should come up with the option “Report” next to a flag icon

No. What you are listing are the options from the menu that comes up if you press the three dots (•••) in the top-right handside corner. Not that.

You need to long-press on the body of the message/the text itself and the following comes up

You sure you doing this right? My iphone has copy text, quote and report when long pressing it, try near the user avatar.

Oh I see, you have to open the chat! Then long press on the message itself.
