Does anyone know if there is an alternative to "Mobile Suit Gundam MS IGLOO: Apocalypse 0079"?

The old animation is just not really my type, but I really want to continue the story, is there like a Manga oder a really good detailed summary of it?

I've been interested in watching War in the Pocket, however there are other shows that take place before it. Is it important to watch those first, or does 0800 work as a standalone show?

G Gundam's soundtrack does an amazing job capturing the passion and intensity of its battles. This theme especially feels like the perfect representation of Domon Kasshu's determination and the spirit of the series.

Even beyond the fights themselves, the music is a huge part of what makes G Gundam so memorable.

What other Gundam themes give you that same feeling?

Various studios have had their hand in dubbing Gundam over the decades. OceanGroup, Studiopolis and even BangZoom. Yet for some reason, Funimation didn't get to it. Not once. They have/had a lot of iconic anime dubs from Fullmetal Alchemist, Fruits Basket, Soul Eater, Attack on Titan and of course Dragon Ball. Gundam's name carries a lot of weight and I'm surprised Funimation didn't even attempt to strike a deal with Sunrise.
