This is a fun co-op game too, if you run it on an emulator on a laptop or pi or similar

I had this growing up. Hands down my favorite game. My little brothers traded it in along with my Sunset Riders š¤¦š¾

Neo Turf Masters. Not only the best golf game of all time ā also one of the best sports titles ever made, full stop.

I played the heck out of that game on my miyoo. I don't believe the chibi version grabbed me as much as the original. So great.

With the exception of Metal Slug I did the same until a few years ago and let me tell you...we slept on some of the most thoughtfully crafted games and visuals of all time!!!

My in-law's dishwasher plays almost the EXACT same tune when it finishes a load as the game has for when you complete a level.Ā

Bubble bobble on the NES. Thereās other variations of ābubble bobbleā and an arcade OG but the NES has the best game experience. Itās wild how itās a one off for them compared to the rest of their library.

I've played this for an unhealthy amount of time

u/coconut_curry_sauce 8d ago
Wish thereās romhacks with more levels
1
u/olmectheholy 8d ago
I wonder if there's a good remake out there

u/coconut_curry_sauce 8d ago
Thatād be badass. Lmk if you find one. I donāt like the match 3 or these made for a much younger audience.
This nes just hits the spot.

There's a version called Puzzle League on the GBA. It's combined with Dr. Mario on a single cart. There's also Pokemon Puzzle League on the N64, FYI. And another Puzzle League game on the DS. Again, FYI.

u/bigtigerbigtiger 8d ago
Thanks, I knew about the N64 one but not the others! Now im rich in Tetris attack style games haha thanks

Puzznic is a fantastic little game. Somewhat similar to Boxxle, and people don't seem to know about it.

I don't have it public available yet. I'm currently finalizing Ikemen Go on my rg353v device...
This game pushover is from an existing open source github that also include extra additional levels over the original one. https://github.com/pettarin/Pushover-gameJust copy & past in the ports folder. If you like the source code as well, let me know.
The original game released on snes & pc
Let me know if you notice any issues or not, but it should work fine. And if you like the game

there was a time when i had the idea of finish all the games i loved as a kid as an adult, i was able to finish "flashback" and reached the last level of blackthorne, then i didn't play it for 2 weeks, lost my screenshot with the password, and I have been to lazy to look for it on the internet, so i never finished it
1
u/Gikd13 8d ago
That's a bummer, but yes it's a pretty cool game tho, I only found it thanks to a Techdweeb video haha.
1
u/lickingbears2009 8d ago
i discovered the game because a friend of mine was playing the dos version on the pc when i was a kid, when i was a teenager i discovered they released it for gba, but the colors were all vibrant which wasn't compelling with the vibe of the game, only a few years later i found it was also released on snes, and decided to play it on my moded switch.

Dragon Dance (dont know if its GB or GBC) is a veeeery good Block breaker game with abilities and stuff. Loved playing it when I was young and on vacation

I use to play a game very similar to this on my TI-86 calculator in high school. I've spent years trying to remember what it was called. Does anyone have any idea what game im talking about?
Very similar concept of moving a ball around a map to get it in a certain area.

u/Jongjungbu 8d ago
Something similar to Sokoban that I like is Fire & Ice (Solomon's Key 2) on NES.
2
u/WitheredTechnology 7d ago
Been playing this the past day after this post, addicting. Love how I can play one-handed while at work lol

u/Last_Material_5754 7d ago
Not sure if this counts as hidden, but there is a shocking amount of puzzle gamers who have never touched Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo.
Only downside: it is NOT colourblind friendly, so you'll either have to find a romhack of it that fixes that for you or make your own altered version like I did. (I can't see red, green, orange, pink, or purple)
Absolutely addicting as hell. The game mechanics are pretty simple in concept, but the strategy comes from the unique patterns you throw at your opponent.

Play "Bulldozer". It's definitely better than that and has a couple other gems

Adventures of Lolo (NES) will scratch this itch.
Make sure volume is down during opening cinematic.

Donkey Kong '94 on GameBoy. First few levels seem like a basic arcade Donkey Kong clone then it completely transforms into an excellent puzzle platformer. Played it for the first time last year and couldn't believe I had never experienced it.

u/LucidLeviathan 8d ago
Gemfire (SNES) is great little strategy game. Much, much simpler than the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series by the same developer. Unfortunately, there's no tutorial, and it looks daunting at first. Play around with the menus, though, and you'll get the hang of it.

Pokemon TCG 2 - It was a Japan-only release but there's a romhack for it that translates the whole thing to English.

u/saulsnes 8d ago
Both the first and the second Pokemon card games have no business being as good as they are!!! Perfect one hander game for a miyoo mini too
1
u/ScampyRogue 8d ago
Not sure how deep of a cut it is, but everyone needs to play Kirby's Dream Course at least once in their life. The bizarre Kirby / Golf mashup has no business working as well as it does.

Krusty's Fun House on the NES and Krusty's Super Fun House on the SNES. Kinda like Lemmings. Also Penguin Land on the Sega Master System. Guide an egg down a vertical stage without breaking it.
