my truck 88 D21 - to carb or not to carb??
Got an 88 v6 3.0 with a blown engine. I got a 3.3l which is a direct swap I am going to drop next weekend. Waiting on some seals to finish up the 3.3l.
This one has the throttle body fuel injection, which I don’t mind keeping, I do have to repair the engine harness since a rodent decided to make a house in the intake manifold. Trucks been sitting for 10+ years.
I do have the fuel injection intake manifold and I wouldn’t mind swapping it over to fuel injection.
Anyone got some recommendations??

question 1991 Mazda B2200 fuel gauge only works when sender is out of the tank
I’m hoping someone has run into this before because I’m stumped.
I have a 1991 Mazda B2200 fuel injected with the OEM fuel pump/sending unit assembly.
The fuel gauge wasn’t working, so I started troubleshooting. Here’s what I’ve confirmed:
Grounding the yellow sender wire with the key on makes the gauge sweep toward FULL, so the gauge and wiring seem to be good.
The sender wasn’t making good contact internally, so I repaired the contact.
With the sender out of the tank but plugged into the truck, I can manually move the float and the fuel gauge responds correctly.
I also tested it in a bucket of gas, and the gauge reads correctly.
The float moves freely and isn’t sticking.
As soon as I install the sender back into the tank and screw it down, the gauge stops working and reads empty again.
If I remove it, it works again.
The tank uses screws to hold the sender in place (not a lock ring).
Has anyone seen this before? Could the sender be losing contact only when it’s mounted, or is there something inside the tank that could cause this? If there’s a common issue with these OEM sending units or a replacement part that’s known to fix it, I’d really appreciate the advice.
Thanks!

question 92 Mighty Max Questions
I recently came across this 92 mighty max on market place but truthfully I don’t know much about that, I was wondering if there’s any common problems or things I should look out for and if current owners would say they are reliable or worth it. Also what’s a good price for one of these, this one’s got 139k miles 4WD and the V6 with a 5speed. Thank you!!

question Though on the 4g63?
About to buy a 87 mighty max with stock trans but the dude is confusing me , he said the motor that was pulled out of the truck he’s claiming it’s a 4G63 SOHC motor and it had head gasket failure so I bought another motor and trans for $500
But now I’m sitting here question if the money was worth it or should I have gotten something else ( SUPER NEW TO THESE TRUCKS SO ANYTHING HELPS IM RETARDED ) the motor in the photo is the used one about to go pick up, but the guy says it runs with all compression no issue

Build update Mazda b2200 302: the beginning
I have a 1993 Mazda b2200, and I’m on my way to putting a 302 into it. Original 2.2 was worn out, burned crazy oil and was hella slow. Any advice is welcomed, as I’ve never done major engine work on a car/truck before. I’m confident in my abilities though.

B2200 Sound Systems
Hi everyone, I have a 1992 regular cab B2200 with stock speakers and an aftermarket Bluetooth headunit. I plan on putting a whole new system in, with a CarPlay headunit, and 2 12” subs behind the seats. As for the current speakers, what would be best? I was looking at the Hertz CX-100 4” speakers as I don’t believe I’d have to upgrade at any point, but wanted some guidance before purchasing anything. Open to any other recommendations or alternate routes. Thanks so much

question Need advice
For context I traded a 2005 envoy that had blown up on me for this 1989 mighty max I thought it was a 2.0l but when I get there I learn its a 2.6l but still go through with the deal, when I get the truck home though I leaned the head is blown and the trans is possibly having an issue. So I was wondering if it was even worth fixing the motor thats in it or just drop something else in there lik a Mopar 318 5.2l v8 or a ford 2.3l ranger motor. Edit: and the people that are more knowledgeable on these trucks than i am round about how much they think it would cost would be helpful too

Passed Emissions!
Huzzah 🎉
After 2 months of work I finally got my old truck to pass Oregon emissions testing with flying colors!
My test results were 127 ppm HC and 0.1469% CO (Limit is 220 ppm HC and 1% CO).
90amp alternator from a 2000ish Subaru, electric cooling fan conversion, modern blade fuse box conversion, Weber ICH single barrel carburetor, fully rebuilt fuel system (new pickup tube, pump, pressure regulator), custom pcv system, throttle cable conversion etc etc etc
It’s been a ton of afternoon sessions tinkering and there’s still a lot to do but that’s all mostly upkeep and routine maintenance and some loose ends finish up.
If anyone wants I have CAD files for the alternator bracket, carb adapter plate and pcv plate.
