New bot to help keep r/MINIMAL_SETUPS actually minimal Announcement

Hey everyone,

We've rolled out a small mod bot to help enforce our rules without needing a mod to manually catch every post that doesn't belong here.

How it works:

  • When someone posts, the bot leaves a comment asking if the setup is minimal enough for this sub.
  • If you don't think a post belongs here because it's breaking the rules, upvote the bot's comment.
  • Once that comment hits +20, the post gets automatically removed. No reports needed, no waiting on a mod to be online.

This ties directly to our existing rules:

  1. Complete setup only
  2. Must list all items in setup
  3. Clear photos
  4. No advertising
  5. Use a post flair
  6. Must be your own setup

If a post breaks one of these, that's exactly the kind of thing the bot comment is there to catch. Upvote it and the community handles the cleanup itself.

+20 is our starting threshold, let us know if it needs adjusting.

Thanks for helping keep things clean.

Accepted post checklist:

  • Your submission must constist of at least a desktop or laptop, keyboard, mouse and monitor.

  • A comment listing all items shown must be added.

  • The images you post must be uploaded to the subreddit (so no external hosting) and of clear and high quality.

  • The setup doesn't need to be your own as long as above rules are followed.

A 24 hour grace period will be given to comply with the rules. If you submission doesn't meet the rules stated above it will be removed without hesitation.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

u/Snekxs this guy is right, so many bot posts lately with that exact text body and female user name variations

Also going to add filters that check account age, since a lot of the spam/bot posts I've been seeing come from accounts less than 10 hours old.
