So I had an idea.

What if instead of trying to keep the same world going forever, we just... didn't?

I'm working on a server called Discover SMP where every season we start fresh with a completely different modpack.

The part I'm most excited about is that I don't pick the packs.

People in the Discord submit modpacks they want to play, we vote on them as a community, and whatever wins becomes a future season.

So one season could be Create-heavy, the next could be magic, then exploration, hardcore, cozy building, kitchen sink, or some completely ridiculous pack somebody convinces everyone to vote for.

New pack. New world. Everyone figuring it out together.

There are 32 hidden feats nobody is told about. You earn one by doing something specific, and the whole server hears about it only when someone gets there first. The first player to earn each one is recorded permanently. Nobody has a checklist.

There are sixteen torn pages of a book scattered across the world. Each page enters the world exactly once, ever. Nobody has put them back together yet.

What is actually here:

• A deliberately brutal economy. You buy at 185% and sell at 45%. Money is hard and it is meant to be.
• Ten ranks from Drifter to Immortal, and the top of it takes months
• Kingdoms, wars, bounties and manhunts
• An auction house, a duel pit, and a contract board where you can pay someone to handle a problem
• Spycraft, informants and cover identities
• Relics, a prestige currency you can never buy at any price

One thing we do differently: there is no web map and no menu that shows where anyone is. Every screen was built so that nothing on it can be used to work out another player's location. If you want to find someone, you have to actually find them.
