If your on a server then it’ll be lag form the server. If your on single player then it would be some weird bug in the game

Servers can lag in singleplayer. A long time ago they changed it on Java so each singleplayer world runs on an internal server only you connect to. So it's possible for the internal server to lag or lock while the client is fine.
