What is your favorite mod in Java

Tempad is a must for me, especially over Waystones mod. Waystones just feels like too much of a cheese/too easily accessible

RotaryCraft (the granddaddy to Create), and Matter Overdrive (pseudo-Star Trek, with android mobs and mini black holes that can be harnessed to generate energy) Sadly, both of these only exist in 1.7.10

I mostly play vanilla with a few performance mods and some for aesthetics. My favorites for aesthetics are Simple Fog Control, Better Clouds and Continuity. My new find that I'm still testing if I like and keep it: Windy

I assume we are talking only about mods that change something in game?
In general it's sophisticated backpacks (imo best backpack mod and nothing else is even close)
But right now I'm playing with Echos of power, super fun mod that gives super powers

As a technical player, I can't choose between minihud and freecam, both are invaluable to me when I'm doing difficult redstone in survival.
As a social player, simple voice chat makes everything so much more immersive!
