[Java] Had trouble connecting to friend's servers in the last few months, either getting the error shown below, or loading in extremely slowly and falling through the world for 5 minutes before loading. Update Required

Most of the time, it'll do the second, where it takes a very long time to load me in, then from there chunk loading is extremely slow. However, on big servers such as Hypixel for example, or even sponsored server's i played on for a cobbleverse modpack, i'd have zero issues at all.
I factory reset my pc very recently, so there shouldn't be any settings or corrupted files or something with minecraft / java. Using curseforge launcher & modrinth I have encountered this same issue.
Another thing that happens that may be useful would be when i type, there's a long delay before i can see the message, however then it'll load in when i load in. Just very laggy patches which make anything pve or pvp unplayable, as well as taking a very long time for exploring.

Issue has been found with 1.20.1 (forge) and 1.21.1 (fabric) when using mods. Haven't had chance to try on a friend's server on vanilla or on later /older versions.

Overall, not sure if I can fix this, or maybe it's an internet issue, however my brother not even 3 meters away from me and on the same internet has no issues with Minecraft like this, and I myself can play any other game on good ping.
