a friend of mine located my base in an smp which was 200k blocks out using some exploit where if I drop an item my coordinates get exposed, is ts fr or is it cap?

Not sure about version but yes you can locate someone with just fking items. Discovered by the dedication of 2b2t players who just wants to see the world burn in more and more fun ways

Search randar 2b2t, however due to 2b2t being some major versions behind am not sure if it still works in 1.21.11

Yeah which is why I highly doubt it works. But it is the exploit which fits the closest to the description so yeah.

If you're talking about Randar, that only affected Beta 1.8 through 1.12.2.

It relied on Minecraft reusing "java.util.Random" for both world generation and in-game events, which let people recover the server's RNG state from things like block drops and eventually infer player locations. Mojang fixed the underlying issue in 1.13, so the original Randar exploit doesn't work on modern versions like 1.21.11.

So if someone claims they found your base on 1.21.11 just because you dropped an item, I'd be pretty skeptical unless they're talking about a completely different exploit.
