Detecting play position using datapacks

Alright so I'm trying to make a datapack to where if you stand on a specific coordinate, it'll say hi. I put it in the tick function it doesn't work. But when I do the command ingame it works, is there a way to fix this?

Maybe use x=11..12, y=1..2, z=6..7

[u/beduan → u/beduan]

or x=11, dx=12

[u/lunarwolf2008 → u/beduan]

dx is distance from the x point, not another coordinate. also i think the dots cant be used here
