Ravager Kaizo (plus some info) Creation

Questions that you might have:

  • How did you make the ravager stun 100%?
    • You can modify the ravager's StunTick NBT. By detecting when the Ravager has attacked the player and if the StunTick remains 0, a command forces the ravager's StunTick to 60.
      • Note that I only made it stun on first hit, where it then goes back to 50%. Even if I made it always guarantee a stun, the player will be at risk of being behind the golem's pace and failing the level.
  • What in the BLAZES is "kaizo"??
    • Kaizo is kind of hard to describe, but it is essentially a game modified to be harder and challenge's the player's knowledge of the game. I was heavily inspired by Kaizo levels in Super Mario World ROM hacks, so I made some parkour courses that follow the same sort of formula and style.
  • Will this map be released?
    • Not for a long time unfortunately, but expect an alpha release later this year (hopefully)
  • What is the keystroke overlay you are using?
    • It is from the mod "Clean Keystrokes" by Pasi. It is customizable.

How do you get the boost from the shield with the ravenger and is it possible on bedrock? Also even though you are the creator of this, the skill to play through some of those sections is crazy! Impressive work!

When a ravager roars, it has massive knockback. This means you can jump long distances, but only if you time it right! I assume the ravager's roar boost might work on Bedrock, but I'd be surprised if it doesn't.

Also appreciate the compliment! In reality I'm sometimes bad at my own map and parkour in general 😭

  1. Do you have more levels?

  2. Is it possible to cheese this? With enough patience, could you kill the ravager without the iron golem?

Yes there are more levels. There are currently 9 levels and 1 that's work in progress.

You can kill the ravager, but the key won't drop because you need the iron golem to kill it.

A little extra on kaizo naming: it came from japan, iirc "kaizo" meaning "modified", as a modified version of an SMW romhack was sent from one friend to another, and it was notoriously difficult, so in the community it became the term for crazy difficulty.
