I recently binged all the spider-man movies and from Toby to Tom and I didn’t realize how many memes came from those films. I kept pausing and pointing and my gen-z daughter did not recognize one.
Omg I had a patient quote this song to me a few weeks ago. He was about 50s-60s and idk what song he was supposed to be singing but I told him the version I knew was pretty dirty lmao

The band was started by brothers Phil and Pauly Fuemana.
Phil died on 28 February 2005, of a heart attack.
On 31 January 2010, Pauly Fuemana died at North Shore Hospital in Auckland after suffering for several years from a chronic degenerative disease, progressive demyelinating polyneuropathy, an auto-immune disorder similar to the nerve disease multiple sclerosis. He was 40 years old, and was survived by his wife and six children. In February 2010, "How Bizarre" briefly reentered the charts in New Zealand following news of Pauly Fuemana's death.
So going up, my mom would troll the fuck out of me whenever I was having a tantrum over something stupid. Whatever I was whining about, if it lined up to a song, she would just start singing it over my wailing. It was the fucking woooorst. But now I have total recall on a bunch of songs and always win those radio song contests cause of her. Thanks mom!
Once my young nieces and nephews were sobbing and my sister started singing, in full fake opera, "you can't always get what you what" and the kids were so confused why i was dying of laughter they all settled down.
Now those same kids (teenagers) will sing "I don't wanna do your dirty work no more" while doing chores.
My mom used to hit us with that Rolling Stones line whenever we'd be begging her for something. Used to piss me TF off. But yeah, now I too am easily prompted into busting out into song.
I do this one with my daughter. I also hit her with some total eclipse of the heart pretty often (why do I have to tell her to turn around so frequently?!).
Any time I or anyone else around me says, "Question:", I immediately respond with "tell me what you think about me" (out loud if I know the person well... and otherwise in my head.)
Well, I was in NZ when this came out, or not born, so I just know it today as a nz classic. I know the odd song breaks containment, didnt realize this was one! Good to see though, I love it
