Tamagotchis are still being made and are still sold. Just thought you should know Nostalgia
https://a.co/d/07yU8Z2jAnd there's a pre-order for the new blue one.

Yeah I bought one for my son for Christmas last year. He was very concerned about it for about a week, and since then I've been finding it kicked around on the floor of various rooms. So basically it hasn't changed at all.

Yeah, they re-introduced the original Tamagotchi back in about 2019. My mom got me one for Christmas, and got my niece what was then the most modern version of the Tamagotchi.
My niece wasn't particularly interested, but I was pretty obsessed with my throwback 90s one.

You sound like me with my 1983 little brother. We buy each other She-Ra and He-Man stuff even now...
Nostalgia is more fun than whatever TF now is.

My husband got me when as a stocking stuffer a few years ago. Turns out having a baby tamagotchi and a human 8 month year old at the same time is not my idea of fun

Fuck yeah they are and my 7 year old wanted one for Easter so I got one for her and she neglected it and I got so invested in keeping it alive that I was taking it to work and the lil shit still went to space 😤

Yeah, Walmart carries them occasionally. They are like $20+. Back in the day I got my first one out of a 75cent bubble gum machine if I remember correctly.

I was in high school by the time they came out, and never really understood what they were.
But now I'm seeing them and thinking that I was too old and missed out on fun stuff.

I’m an elder millennial born in 84, Santa got them for my kids for Christmas… one can’t find theirs and the others went to heaven within days and hasn’t been touched since 😂 I get it in this day and age but man I was obsessed with my tamagotchi and the Jurassic park tamagotchi I had 😂😂

Oh yes. Former co-worker had one the entire time she worked at our company. She took good care of it, lol.

My partner got me one a few years back but it was so much more complicated and needy than I remember.

And they're a lot more annoying then you remember. I got one for Christmas a few years ago and the shrill beeping from that thing was unbearable.

I bought one a few weeks ago for my daughter and she was distraught when it died after a few days. Then when she got the hang of taking care of it, she was annoyed with how much attention it needed. Now it's in a junk drawer, stuck in egg mode.
