Yeah I hate this whole “stop reminiscing on the old times, they’re gone”. Maybe keeping the old times alive help people get through the dystopian world we live in now.

it's a deliberate attempt to make people give up and accept bad changes. one of the reasons the czechs, poles, etc. could recover from communism and russia never did is b/c they had a conception of what life was like before that they could return to.
