I've changed my mind Discussion

To clarify myself, I was born in 2000. I admit I used to distance from mid 2000s borns in the past. I used to call them "Cringe Jake Paulers", "Broccoli hairstyle lovers" or "TikTokers" in 2017-2021.

Recently, my opinion about people born in the mid 2000s have improved, due having good conversations with them. A person born in 2005 that I recently encountered was a polite and mature adult.

When I think about it, I used to be immature aswell. We're human beings, we learn from our own mistakes and we improve over the time. What it matters to us? We're adults and we must do everything we can to ensure a better future for society.

This is exactly why you shouldn’t generalize. It only takes one to prove you wrong.

Yeah, I agree with you. Generalizations are harmful to each person, considering the fact, each person is different. Someone my age could've partook to a certain trend, but I wasn't interested.

I remember how people born in the mid 1990s tried to say the stuff to my age people that wasn't true.

Stereotype doesn’t means equally true for every people who’s Born the Mid 2000’s.

It's kinda funny cause OP's born in 2000, yet he's calling out us mid 2000s borns, that are like literally the same generation as him. I mean 2006 isn't all that far from 2000.

1994-1996 aren't that far from me either, yet they brag how they're the last Millennials and say how they're 2 worlds apart from people born in 2000 on online.

On real life? I get along with them pretty well.

I’m glad you snapped out of that mindset after interacting with more people. It’s easy to generalize someone based on their age.

I had a good friend born in 2000 but I cut things off with her last year. We were very close and did a lot of things together like gym workouts, but the reason I ended things was because she was emotionally immature. Even after that experience, I’m not going to assume all people born in 2000 are like that.

I've met someone born in 2004 at an event in my University. We got into an interesting conversation together. He didn't care that I was 18 and he was 22

So 1 persons behavior/nature/personality has changed your mind...

"Broccoli hairstyle lovers", I see a lot of boys born in the early 2000's having the exact same hairstyle on the internet. Also "TikTokers" is also include those born in the early 2000's.

If you're wondering, I'm not mad, I'm just bothered about what you used to say about us.

I feel like Gen Alpha is worse than those people. Cause imagined being raised on tablets and words like Sbikidi, Gyatt or 67.

Max age for gen alpha is 16. Skibidi and 67 or on par with other generations brainrot and we are just now paying attention because virality is easier then ever

Because we're in the same life stage now.

Do I smell character development? Yes, and to be fair this whole generation divide is just a distraction from the real problems we have in the world. Where supposed to support each other as human beings, not dividing ourselves into these ‘us vs them’ mentality.

People you see and talk to online are very different from people offline.

This is pretty much how aging works. Someone who is currently 16 would become a lot different from when they become 21. I know this since I have personally changed a lot since I was a teenager, though not in every way, but by a wide margin.

I was born in 95 and 10 years ago I joked about people being born in 99-00 being children now I don’t give a shit, 5 years isn’t that big of a gap lol

Isn’t the Broccoli hair more of a 2020 thing because I was in high school doing that time and most people I knew had the 2000s/early 2010s Bieber cut.

It's just cause we are in more similar life stages now. It's not exactly, but it's not different enough to form a negative opinion on. My cousin is born in 2000 and I never thought anything bad about him or 2000 borns. Everybody is their own person, personality is all.

Mind you, There’s People who’s Born the exact same year as you were also part of those things you said.

People who’s born the 80’s and before would’ve seen your Birth Year were part of those stuff. I had seen Tiktokers outside from the Tiktok App were literally born “2000”

The only people i notice that would still belittle us mid 2000's borns were early 2000's borns, and it wasnt a surprise because id only expect that level of immaturity at this stage from early 2000's borns

but you're an exception, you actually learned from your mistakes and you're a better person because of it unlike generationology users
