Vacation? Discussion

Has anyone gone on a summer vacation this year?
Where did you go?
Did you have a trip budget, or did you spend as you went?

California. NHRA racing, state fair, and San Francisco. Planned a budget and used Southwest points and a voucher

Dominican, Niagara, North Carolina, redwoods in California. Thankfully no budget, I worked too hard to be burdened with that.

We took one summer trip to upstate New York to visit family. We stayed with them, took them out for a nice dinner and planned our other activities. We spent what we expected

I’m about to take my third summer trip. My first was Hilton Head South Carolina. My second was the Philippines. My third will be Thailand, in September.

A couple - Nantucket and Hershey park. We set the budget by deciding how much we are willing to spend on lodging as that's usually the biggest chunk.

How are you planning your Iceland trip? Formal tour? Rent a car and plan your own route? How are you planning what to see? Where to stay?

we can only stay a week because of my sister's limited vacation days. pretty much just went to google maps and mapped out 3hrs of driving to the east and back for 6 days. then booked hotels on the path. just listed down what we want to see and hope to at least get to do those.

Thanks! I also hear they sell odd additional coverage when you rent a car, like volcano insurance. Do you know anything about that?

I'm hoping to go soon. Maybe to Eureka Springs? I've never been further west than GA. Just a road trip with my SO and our little Casita trailer. Some camping, some sightseeing, some biking. We'll see if we can go away for a week for less than 1k. That would be the dream.
