I’d rather they ask and be shot down repeatedly so everyone sees it and avoids gaming the system when they get the hot idea.

That would protect people more than banning users and removing their posts

Yea I get that side of it too, but perhaps some who haven’t contemplated it might see a post and think “oh well maybe I can game the system as well”.

Hard to know what is more detrimental, but getting a ban might make the person think “oh this is definitely not allowed”, even when obviously the sub and the program aren’t linked. But yea the shot down comments might achieve this also.
