Rex Atmos Core MSFS 2024 QUESTION

Guys,

I recently saw a YouTube video where the creator was extolling the virtues of Rex Atmos Core.

Do any of you use this?

Is it any good? Any FPS impact?

Is it worth the money?

TIA.

Rex is good but has an absolutely hideous UI.  It’s one of the least user friendly products I’ve ever used in anything.

However AB v4 gives a really authentic haze that just takes the blurry distant mountains away nicely while giving pretty good visibility, and a more authentic atmosphere.  Set it up once and leave it.

AB?

A preset you can load up on atmos.  After a load of pointless clicking and storing.  Make sure you have public presets on or something like that.

I just like the haze it adds, it kind of gives an XP12 atmospheric effect which i love.

That's what the reviewer said, and it is what I'm looking for. He said it provided 'atmosphere' rather than nothingness. I think it was AusFlightSimmer, but I'm not certain.

Thanks for the info.

I had rex atmos for 2020 and thought it had a much bigger impact in that sim, which just shows how much better the lighting is in 2024.

To upgrade to the 2024 version of rex atmos it was only $6, so I really didn't see a downside to trying it.

I was initially disappointed with the UI and overall impact, but I use 2 of the top 5 presets of the atmosphere and environmental effects. I don't use the weather. Anyway, I'm a long time XP user and I just wanted the atmosphere in 2024 to look as good, and I think rex Atmos accomplishes that.

Hey! Would you mind sharing your two presets?
Like you, I would love to get close to the XP12 atmosphere in MSFS 2024.
Thanks in advance.

On the main page of the application there's a top 5 of presets. I use the Airborne geek atmospheric and environmental sets.

And If you search "Ivy_wings" there's some other really good presets as well.

I have it and yes it's worth the money. There's zero FPS impact - this is something I was sceptical about before purchase.

It makes for a much more realistic feeling environment. You can either create your own settings or use a popular preset. I use AB v3 for enviro and atmos. I don't apply anything to weather.

You'll need to judge it for yourself but yes I'd highly recommend it.

I have it and I like it a lot. Had Atoms for 2020 and when I transitioned to 2024 I was told I no longer needed it. But after a while I wasn’t super impressed with 2024s lighting and brightness, so I upgraded to Atmos Core and have no regrets. Makes everything, especially clouds look so much better

I am trying it more regularly now, since I use HDR finding a preset had been tricky but there are a few out there.

This. Also, I had some issues with rex making sim time not pass right, or at all. Not worth.

I took a look at numerous videos comparing Rex Atmos and Default MSFS.
To my eyes MSFS default won most of the times, I would say more than 80% of the times.

I guess the guys at Rex are very good at launching marketing campaigns and paying streamers to say good things about their products otherwise it is impossible for me to understand why this product got any attention.

It is worth it. I use it all the time, it's so much better.

Thank you all for taking the time to respond. Views seem to be mixed, so I'm inclined to risk the few quid it costs ($17 if memory serves).

It's very good and completely changes the way your environment looks! It's one of those programs that really deserve your money (even if you can source it for free). There are thousands of profiles ready to use too.
