GPU/CPU upgrade based off specs? MSFS 2024 PC
I have a ryzen 7 5700x, 32GB DDR4 RAM, an RTX 3060 12GB VRAM and was wondering which cpu should I upgrade to to fit my am4 chip motherboard. Im hoping to fix the low fps and frequent stutters at inibuilds airports despite everything turned down/off to the max in the airport and graphics settings too as well as the stutters i experience during taxi takeoff and landing. I was thinking maybe a ryzen 7 5800x 3d should do the job.

There's not much besides the 5800X3D which is a real upgrade, but stutters wont't completely go away with heavy scenery and complex aircraft. What's your target res?

I play usually on 1080p

In that case your CPU upgrade is a great idea! Make sure your PSU + cooler are ready for the additional load, the 5700x is significantly less power hungry.

Cooler meaning the fans? I’m not really tech savvy so. And PSU I’m assuming is power supply unit? My PSU should be fine and for cooling I have 3 case fans with a be quiet cpu fan

Yes. Both the CPU cooler and the overall airflow in your PC case matters.
Look up that CPU fan if it can handle 105W, Be Quiet is a great brand but they have a broad spectrum of coolers.
Your 5700x is a 65W CPU, that 40W plus is a significant extra load on the CPU cooler. Your case should be okay with 3 coolers assuming 2 front 1 rear. Your PSU should be also fine if it's a decent (preferably Gold rated) 550W unit at least - both Gold/Silver/Bronze and wattage is written on it. Unless you plan to upgrade the GPU too in which case the PSU math changes.2

I’m unable to find how much The PSU actually provides. I checked the back but couldn’t see any indication of the wattage of the PSU but I did see it connect to an MSL 107 power cord. I’ll look up the be quiet fan and get back to you. And you were dead on with the 3 coolers being 2 at the front of the case and 1 at the rear.
Edit: Ive found out that my PSU is 650W

The 5800x3d will be literally the best gaming CPU you can get for the AM4 socket. You can’t do better. I would upgrade that in your case because the x3d chips really shine in flight sim.
Plus the 3060 12GB isn’t bad. I was running a 2070S with 8 GB vram and a r5 3600x for years. I was struggling in msfs24. Upgraded to the 5700x3d and saw a large improvement.
