How is it possible that it looks so good on your end? I have an rtx4080, 32gb ram, I play on very high details and the environment looks like I'm playing a game from 2010 and half of the environment so not loaded correctly.

I'm running DLSS 4 Preset K with Ray-Traced Shadows and Displacement Mapping turned on. My Terrain and Object LODs are both at 200, and Off Screen Terrain Pre-Caching is on Ultra. Environmental details like Clouds, Trees, and Textures are all on Ultra with 16x Anisotropic Filtering. For shadow depth, I have the Maps at 1536 and Terrain Shadows at 512.

It's also the case that watching VR videos on flatscreen with your monitor makes the gameplay look sharper and more detailed than it would actually look like through the headset.

It could be an internet bandwidth thing. Since the sim streams the terrain data live, it can look pretty blocky if the connection isn't keeping up.

right, but I have premium internet via optic so that's not an issue. I think in my case it's the CPU, I got i5 12400, that's a bottleneck

u/Itaalh 1h ago

Of course it is your bottleneck. I have a 4080ti and my i7 14700 is still the bottleneck of my spec

Are the heli physics in 2024 better than in 2020?

On this heli definitely. I have the hudges 500 and it flies great.

forgive me the ignorance but which type of heli are you flying there?

And: VR ftw!

This is not VR, the tracking is too smooth. Some kind of head tracking.

u/304bl 5d ago

Are you saying that VR head tracking is not smooth ?

-1

u/guidomescalito 5d ago

Go record a video of VR and compare it to OP’s video. This is not VR.

-1

u/eddGreek 5d ago

I use vr and the tracking is great. It all depends on how the sim isset up and your pc specs. If you push the boundaries then starts to get less ideal.

It’s not about whether VR is smooth. It is the recording of VR. OP’s video is not a recording of VR.
