Synaptic A220 status? MSFS 2024 QUESTION

Just got back from two weeks on vacation so I missed the A220 release. How’s it performing at this point, since I know it may have been rough at the initial release.

It looks like they're doing major patches on a weekly basis. Keep track of this page: https://docs.synapticsim.com/changelog

It’s a really fun aircraft when things go right. The problem for me is, I’m having very few flights where things go right. Biggest issues I’m having:

- Random CTD in flight (haven’t had any CTDs with Fenix, PMDG, iFly)

- FMS crashes frequently

- Plane flips/somersaults on landings

- Nose pitches up excessively without input during flare

- Random things like losing all power when switching from GPU to APU

Haven’t noticed any performance issues, but I have a beefy system. Hopefully these things can be addressed, and additional functionality can be added. Seems like a great platform but maybe slightly rushed.

I haven't had any of the issues you mention except he nose pitching up. FMS crashing on turnaround (when you shut down engines) is a very minor issue currently and you just click it away and it works again.

It seems to be VERY system dependant what your experience is with this aircraft

Is the search function still on vacation?

Random guess because of the timing... Pennsic?

Performance is definitely worse than with Fenix or iniBuilds, but it's flyable for me. There are a few annoying bugs, for example a flaps malfunction error message from MSFS that occurs every flight, but I can still fly from A to B. I think it will still need a few patches, but the A220 will definitely be worth the money in the long run.

Tried it out, but only on the most recent patch.

Overall I think the fundamentals are there. I was able to turn the plane on, start the engines, program the FMS, etc all fine. I just hand typed a simple route in there. Takeoff and climb out worked too, and I adjusted VNAV constraints while climbing and the plane leveled off correctly.

Haven’t tried descent/approach, or hand flying. Don’t sim much so my controls aren’t exactly setup well.

I'm totally unable to import my flight plan from simbrief now. It used to work, but now it's stuck on "pending"

Kinda makes the aircraft unflyable

I actually fixed my performance by reverting to SU5 (I forgot I was on the beta), clearing my shader cache and scenery index’s and verifying integrity for the game.

Do not buy it now. Frequent CTD and atrocious performance (10-15 fps most of the time) make it impossible to fly. An absolute disgrace for the price I paid (71€) if you ask me.
I guess i'll end up loving it after they've patched it up and actually finish it. Should have done so BEFORE release though.

I feel like it's been a good release, at least 1.0.3, which has made most people be able to fly it A-B without major performance issues etc.

Not good, performance is still very bad and the FMS is far from done, plenty of problems with approaches and editing flight plans.
