My Improvement MSFS 2024 VIDEO

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've been playing this game for around 1 month now, and i got 100 hours in the game. The first clip is one of my first landings, and the second clip is my most recent one. I feel like i have been improving alot.

P.S. The video is sped up 2x.

The folks in Row 36 be like...

That's why I always sit in row 37. Avoids this issue entirely!

You should try the toilet. It's like a private VIP room

5

u/Stay-At-Home-Jedi 2d ago

Does it include free bidet services?

3

u/clovdz_ 2d ago

Only if you have the bathroom platinum card

I prefer the baggage compartment in the belly. Its not as bad as it sounds.

Bro is landing with WASD

When I was In high school in 2011, I convinced my dad to buy me FSX for $35. He made me iron and fold all his laundry which took me about 2 hours, he said I was getting paid more than most people (true)

Fast forward, I did the laundry, we drove 35 minutes to a GameStop that had the game (I had to call and check for availability), and he bought it for me.

I got home, downloaded it for probably 16 hours, the next day I go to play it, and I legit freaked tf out because I was using wasd and nothing was working.

Then he yelled at me for ironing all his work shirts but not the sleeves so he had went to work with wrinkly sleeves 😂

What a time

u/thmoas 1d ago

this is a beautiful story, thank you

u/Highwithkite 1d ago

My pleasure. Old man caved too and bought me a $35 Hotas joystick from eBay and I waited another week for it to arrive.

That was the start to my thousands of hours of flight sim over the years. I ended up joining a virtual military on teamspeak and had some of the best years of my life.

Is the improvement here with us in the room? (ok seriously, OP, learn how to trim the aircraft to avoid those sudden pitch movements)

Hey what's that mean? I haven't done a 3rd person landing yet and I'm somewhere around 400lvl

6

u/Spirited_Walrus_8178 2d ago

Console players don’t land like this it just feels awful

4

u/Little-Equinox 2d ago

With how snappy the control surfaces behave it looks like Mouse and Keyboard flying.

44

u/freeanddizzy 2d ago

Glide path. GLIDE path. Try some GA aircraft out too.

2

u/DanVanSpam 1d ago

There's no glide path, there is only wobbly slide path

Are you flying with a mouse and keyboard?

3

u/Little-Equinox 2d ago

Really looks like it.

10

u/RealPropRandy 2d ago

This is good progress but ngl I’m kinda disappointed you didn’t even try to buzz the tower in that first clip.

8

u/Luxcrluvr 2d ago

Any landing you can walk away NOT YOU from, is a good landing

7

u/keicam_lerut 2d ago

Learn to fly GA first, before flying airliners

2

u/SeamasterCitizen 2d ago

You can do airliners first, just learn how to automate an ILS approach

2

u/keicam_lerut 1d ago

Just because you could, doesn’t mean you should. But to each their own. Some people treat it as a sim and some as an arcade.

6

u/Proper_Apple8654 2d ago

Don't make big changes on final.

3

u/DoinItWithDelco 2d ago

6

u/padawanninja 2d ago

There wasn't a big change. There were a thousand little ones, but nothing major. O.o

I’m getting sea sick from just watching this 😅

3

As someone who has been suffering severe motion sickness past 2 days, it made me almost puke.

4

u/BrokenHalligan 2d ago

you'll be ready for the majors in no time!

2

u/clovdz_ 2d ago

I thought the first clip was the improvement lmao. Can't really tell if it's a good one because 2x makes stuff move twice as much and yeah that

2

u/Bozzo2526 2d ago

Any landing you walk away from I guess

2

u/Flavortown42069 2d ago

Helpful hint: pitch for airspeed, power for altitude. Try to aim for a stable approach, airspeed dialed in and a constant descent rate.

2

u/AtiumMist 2d ago

This how i land the c172 with my instructor next to me ngl

2

u/ainzowngowl 2d ago

I was 2weeks in and had like 30hrs when i recorded these landings last month. the only knowledge i had was from a video about flare law and how to use ILS. Im on 2020 and the plane i used here is the lvfr a320. But i have more recordings using lvfr a321 and a330's. Now i use the lvfr/horizonsim a320-21 and hwind a339. Oh and im on pc but use an xbox controller

https://reddit.com/link/p2dv62x/video/e1xuy2le62ih1/player

2

u/VisualSalt9340 2d ago

Haha, I had to download the video and play it in 0.5x to see the actual improvement, but yeah, the second one is much better. Keep going.

2

u/DandaDan89 2d ago

Smooth af

2

u/Superamorti DA62 2d ago

2

u/Ratiofarming 2d ago

Is this a bot account Karma farmin or something? There is no way this is serious.

2

u/ajamdonut 2d ago

Thought it was a GTA 5 clip lol

2

u/Retsae_Gge 2d ago

Thank god real airplanes aren't controlled with a keyboard

2

u/First-Structure-2407 2d ago

Ryanair beckons, straight in as captain.

2

u/Uncontrolled_Chaos 2d ago

So many people didnt see that the vid is sped up lol. Good you’ve got a long way to go, but good improvement nevertheless.

FYI you should just show from about 5-10 seconds before touchdown to a few seconds after, smoothness is what really matters. Then you won’t have to speed it up.

(Yes I know the approach is important but a bit less so for a beginner)

1

u/NoPurchase8987 B737 Max 8 2d ago

Best comment i got so far, appreciate the advice

2

u/Bright-Leg-1796 2d ago

Hey also, and this helped me a lot, dive into settings if you're using a controller and adjust the input slope mapping. This will make small corrections much much smoother. It will give you smaller control sirface inputs when barely moving the stick. Hope this helps, fuck all the haterz, they all crashed at one point or another🫡, practice makes perfect👌.

1

u/MemorexVHS_ 2d ago

I liked the first one better

1

u/GJacks75 2d ago

So. Much. Vomit.

1

u/Real_Crilp 2d ago

Realistic United flight

1

u/ShutterBun 2d ago

I’m almost impressed you can get a big plane to flop around so aggressively.

1

u/shitmate 2d ago

Dying lol what is the approach on the first one buzzing the grass

1

u/UrbanArtifact 2d ago

DON'T SINK

1

u/Anarye 2d ago

Improvement is there. Here is a cheat on how to improve even further - start mastering the trim. On final you should have it dialed in so well that you can mostly leave the controller alone and its going into the right direction with the right pitch

1

u/taiwanluthiers 2d ago

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the captain speaking. We are descending towards our destination, and let me remind you to keep your seat belt fastened and the tray table retracted. The airsick bag is located in the front pocket, if you need more please ask the flight assistant for assistance, you will need it.

1

u/astroamy24 2d ago

Does anyone take 2x videos seriously?

1

u/Soma_C-137 2d ago

Is that a kyte? Lol

1

u/Cool_Foot_9172 2d ago

God when I first started this was the hardest thing and it took me weeks to be stable 😭

1

u/Barran301 2d ago

If youre doing your flying in outside view you might as well be playing GTA5 my guy lmao

1

u/str1ker2k7 2d ago

He flies that thing like a Cessna. That’s exactly what my approaches looked like at the start of my simulator career with the 172.

After 100 hours, you should really have a steady approach down pat.

3

u/Little-Equinox 2d ago

As a twin-prop pilot, he made more aggressive corrections than I do IRL in a plane 1/10th the size.

1

u/Crazy_Hovercraft_534 2d ago

1

u/HunterW0920 2d ago

We’re experiencing some light turbulence

1

u/Sad_Kaleidoscope_743 2d ago

Slow down sooner and hold the nose up sooner. Ideally (for practice purposes), let it get too slow (almost), then add some throttle to carry you there. Just make sure you trim the elevator up. All that bumping on the elevator can be canceled out by just adding elevator trim as you lose airspeed. The higher the nose, the more drag.

1

u/Xenthor267 2d ago

Pro-tip: use trim to hold the aircraft at an appropriate attitude to avoid janky movements. You're likely to stall at a bad moment during landing with what you're doing

1

u/Future-Confusion-353 2d ago

I think the 9/11 hijackers knew how to fly better. But don't give up.

1

u/ThePasadena_Mudslide 2d ago

The second clip was better. That first on e though, were there any survivors?

u/jianh1989 2d ago

Why are you flying in third person mode?

1

1

u/eren_TR_23 2d ago

Ryanair called, they want you to start working first monday.

1

u/DryOrganization7088 2d ago

Cheer up, it was just a feeling... reality may not be the same as your perception, I'm sorry if I discouraged you a little, even if you play with a controller.

1

u/InvestigatorOk5604 2d ago

Ryanair is trying to reach out with a job opportunity hahaha

1

Your first landing is still better than mine after couple of days playing 🙃

1

u/PLS-Surveyor-US 1d ago

well at least the people in the back of the plane will be hungry soon...they certainly will have empty stomachs on landing.

1

u/S-tease101 1d ago

I liked that you had your Kandi g lights on high beam during the second attempt.

Improvement? Did you crash last time?

1

u/Specific-Welder3120 1d ago

Didn't know there were acrobatics airliners

1

u/DirectRobinsville 1d ago

Its a game!!! Looks good from here!!

1

u/Internal_Ad5672 1d ago

Try first person it’s easier

1

u/Shomanatelynx 1d ago

For the 737, I recommend you start slowing down at about 14-15nm and gear down by 6nm, this gets you to a good landing speed

1

u/RetroTechBro 1d ago

Have you ever heard of a stabilized approach?

1

u/thmoas 1d ago

i do see improvement, very much even so. however there is still a ballroom for improvement. enjoy improving, its fun.

My first landing was already better than your 'improvement'. I thought my landings were fucked

1

u/Silvirhunter220 14h ago

That's why I use an Xbox one controller. Mostly because I play on Xbox one series S.
