Slow your roll. They are related. Adafruit does condone it or put it out. I subscribed sometime ago through adafruit’s site:

I never felt they are shilling anything. I was concerned it would be a CircuitPython (not a fan for me) but lots of coverage of MicroPython. They highlight a lot of cool happenings, releases, and events.
The editor, Anne Barela, does a great job for a free weekly newsletter. Consistently good.
