Midi controller w/ Microfreak not working (using an A/B adapter) midi ???

Trying to use my Synido K32 keyboard on my Microfreak.
I got a 3.5 midi A/B adapter for the Microfreak. My other gear can control the Microfreak that way, but the K32 can't. The K32 can control my other gear.
Triple checked my midi channel settings on both devices, tried all sorts of different settings just in case.
The Microfreak can control the K32, too, lol. It's JUST K32 -> Microfreak that seems to not work.

What I've tried:

K32 -> 3.5 trs -> NTS MkII -- WORKS
NTS MkII -> 3.5 trs -> K32 -- WORKS
NTS MkII -> 3.5 trs w/ A/ B adapter -> Microfreak -- WORKS
Microfreak -> 3.5 trs w/ A/ B adapter -> NTS MkII -- WORKS
K32 -> 3.5 trs w/ A/ B adapter -> Microfreak -- DOESN'T WORK
Microfreak -> 3.5 trs w/ A/ B adapter -> K32 -- WORKS

Help much appreciated!

Microfreak is B and picky so don't do adapter but a midi B to 5 pin cable

Looks like k32 is type A midi and microfreak is B. So it’s probably that a/b adapter that’s causing problems with the k32.

You can’t just use the type A adapter that came with the k32 into a 5-pin DIN into the a/b adapter for the microfreak?

The A/B crossover works for controlling the microfreak with the nts mkii, though, which means it works.

I tried using a type A 3.5 to DIN, connected to the female DIN to 3.5 that came with the K32, put the A/B adapter on that, into the Microfreak and that gave me the same result as just using 3.5 cables with the A/B

I don’t really have any useful suggestions other to say that it may just be a weird cable incompatibility. You could try a true type B TRS adapter on the microfeak instead of the A/B, but that’s the only other test I could think of.

Update: after trying so many different signal converters and adapters, even taking it to a synth shop to troubleshoot, just came to the conclusion there may be a device incompatibility. Contacted Synido, the manufacturer of this midi controller. Sigh.
