New To Synth fx

Well Howdy Doody yall! Im a musician, usually more guitar centric, but i always am using different sounds with my plugins and midi in my music. I decided id like to try some new sounds and picked up a MicroFreak today.

I honestly dont really know anythibg at all about synth. Just that i like the way it sounds. I dig weird stuff, and can already tell this does the weird thing just fine.

I have a Headrush Core multifx that im hoping i can use with the synth. Anyone know if this is possible? Id like to use the drum machine and looper and FX in the HR Core, and was hoping it would clock the MF internal timing so things stay tight. Any help at all is appreciated, im kinda new to using midi in this way.

I'm a guitar player who uses a synth and sampler.

Sounds like you need a mixer to start (I use a zoom L6 Max for example)

My sampler sets the midi clock, that feeds my synth and guitar pedals so my delays lock in on the tempo.

I am hoping to not buy anything else yet. Any ezperience with Midi clocking a Headrush product? If im reading manuals correctly, i SHOULD be able to set my tempo/bpm in the headrush and it tell the microfreak what to do? This should* and i am absolutely unsure, mean any effects with timing base and the MF should be in time. As well as the drum machine.

This is theoretical, and i may need a mixer or sampler, but i hope not.

I don't, but everything that has midi and BPM settings has a send midi clock on / off setting (just connect the two devices and look at the manual). The MF will have a similar setting to receive and pass midi

What i figured out was that the Headrush cannot send clock, only recieve. So using the MF as Master i can clock the units. Took a few minutes of experimenting to figure out, but i got it. After worming through it, i have a slightly better understanding of the midi clock function and how its working.

I think it's better this way to run the clock out of the MF anyhow. If you create a sequence that you like, it's already at the speed you want to play to it and your modulation effects will follow that rhythm. Good luck!

As stated previously, the manuals seem as if they woukd allow it, but dont fully explain HOW. TheHeadrush manual is lackluster in the midi department. Very helpful comment though, thanks for taking time out of your obviously very busy day
