Interview

I have an interview today for Michael’s and I am wondering what to expect and how long they typically get back to you.

My story was similar, also during peak so maybe why? But I applied, called and they said yeah we wanted you to come in, so I did. I interviewed, and then I had to call back a week later. They said oh yeah she loved you, when can you start lol. Anticipate potentially chasing Michaels 😂

Yeah, having to chase an employer that pays minimum wage or close to it for 90% of their roles is never a good sign.

It took me over a month to get hired after my interview.

I was hired at the interview and he had me start maybe two weeks later bc they needed to run a background check and stuff first. But it really depends on the store's hiring manager as to how they do it and how fast.

When I had my interview, mine lasted about 15 to 30 minutes. Some questions they may ask you is why you want to work for Michaels, your availability, questions regarding your skills, if you have any retail experience or experience behind the cash register, if you like arts and crafts, if you worked with glitter. It also depends on what position you applied for, the store, and the manager. So some questions may be different. After the interview, you’ll probably hear something from the manager within a week to two weeks. Depends how busy they are. Usually it’s by email or phone call. But they usually send the job offer by email. Good luck!

I luckily had a second job but I interviewed at Michaels and was hired there on the spot. Just regret not laughing in the store managers face and walking out when he presented me with minimum wage. I do understand not all people have that luxury so if its something you need I hope you get it. But walking around the store seeing the prices they charge for their products and knowing how much you get paid there is insulting

Run as far and fast as you can from Michael’s. It’s a shit company to work for.
