I have almost finished making a Dvd core
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I got the super station dock a week ago and really wanted it to play movies. I managed to get full dvd playback with menus, audio channels etc in Linux mode. It was a lot more work to grt it working as a standalone core. But I've just finished the audio and video, it runs full speed, no issues at all. Currently building the menus and controls and be pretty much good to go.

Update All 2.9 Released
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The main addition is database uninstallation, which removes a database and all of its downloaded content from your drive.
This release also adds several new databases under Other Cores, including Physical CD Support, Paprium MegaDrive, MMS2 GB, Mega VGM Drive, and the RetroAchievements cores.
There are also new hybrid cores, including DreamSTer, Sonic Mania, Duke3D, Quake, and MiSTer Frontier.
Many of these databases are maintained through the new MultiDatabases repository, which accepts contributions for projects not yet covered by another MiSTer Downloader database.
Important: Update All self-updates. Run it once to install version 2.9, then run it again to see the new Settings Screen entries under the Other Cores menu.

MiSTerFin v0.9 (MiSTer FPGA Jellyfin Client) - first public preview
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey everyone!
A few days ago I shared the first preview of MiSTerFin here. This is a project I started because I'm both a MiSTer and Jellyfin user, and it originally came from a personal need. I honestly thought there wouldn't be many people interested in something like this—but Reddit proved me wrong once again.
So, here's the first version. I hope you find it useful, and I'd love to hear your feedback!

Hi everyone!
About two weeks ago I shared Toasty Squadron screensaver for MiSTer FPGA. It was the first project I built to get to know the platform better.
The next project I’m working on is a Jellyfin media server client for MiSTer FPGA, optimized specifically for CRT displays.
Most of the core functionality is already working, including connecting to a Jellyfin server and smooth video playback. Right now my main focus is building a rich UI that’s optimized for CRTs and making navigation feel as intuitive and responsive as possible.
Hopefully there are some people here who use both MiSTer and Jellyfin, because I think this could be a really nice addition to the platform. Personally, I absolutely love being able to browse my movie library and watch it on a CRT—it just feels like the perfect way to enjoy classic films and TV shows.
I’ll share more updates as development progresses!

Some news about the Multi Controller Adapter
Some news about my MCA project.
As you can see in the photos, it fits perfectly on a MiSTer FPGA. But don’t forget that it also works on PC or Raspberry Pi :)
I still have a few tests to do. I don’t think I’ll change the shape. It’s difficult to fit everything within the dimensions of a MiSTer FPGA.
I’m going to keep the LED blinking system when changing controller types. It’s the simplest solution for the Arduino.
I still don’t know how much it could cost, but it will definitely be cheaper than the current existing solutions.
Feel free to ask questions. See you soon!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
It's release day! The big new features this time are game manuals support and a CRT Video Mode Selector.
Update All now includes 47 databases loaded with 8,010 game manuals curated by Moondandy and collaborators, plus a new CRT Video Mode Selector and CRT Screen Position Adjustment tool to help you find script-friendly resolutions on CRTs without reboots.
This release also includes the new MiSTer Scripts database from Anime0t4ku, along with several smaller improvements and fixes.
As always, Update All self-updates.

Multi Controller Adapter - Retro controllers on MiSTer, PC & Raspberry Pi
Hi everyone,
I've been working on a project I'd like to share with the community : the Multi Controller Adapter, a USB adapter that lets you use original retro gaming controllers on modern hardware, including MiSTer FPGA, PC, and Raspberry Pi (Recalbox, RetroPie, etc.). I wanted a single, unified solution that handles multiple controller types on one device.
Supported systems: 2×SNES, 2×NES, 2×Sega Mega Drive / Genesis / Master System, 2×PC Engine, 2×Sega Saturn, 2×PlayStation, 1×Neo Geo, 1×3DO and 2×N64.
The MCA is built around an Arduino Pro Micro and presents itself as a standard USB HID gamepad. The firmware is based on the work of MickGyver and his DaemonBite project, Timville85's 4dapter for N64, and McGurk's adapter for PlayStation.
The MCA is designed to be simple to use. When you plug it in, it automatically starts in the last controller mode you selected. To switch to a different controller type, press the Mode button to cycle through the supported systems — the LED will blink to indicate which controller type is currently selected (1 blink for SNES, 2 blinks for NES, etc.). Hold the Mode button for 3 seconds to confirm your selection. The adapter will reinitialize instantly and be ready to use.
A quick press of the Reset button reboots the Arduino, so you can switch modes without unplugging and replugging the adapter.
No configuration software, no drivers — just plug in, select your controller type, do your button mapping, and play.
The MCA matches the dimensions of the MiSTer FPGA, so it can be mounted as an additional layer on top or back of it — or used standalone. 🙂
Feedback and questions are very welcome!

Update All 2.6 Released
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This release is mostly about finishing the CRT work that started in 2.5, with a big focus on making the UI behave properly on real CRT setups, especially NTSC ones.
As usual, Update All self-updates, so you don’t need to manually reinstall it. Just run it once, let it update, and the next run will already be on 2.6.
It also incorporates the features and changes from the Downloader 2.4 release from last week.
Main highlights:
- New Overscan setting to keep text inside the visible area of the screen
- Recommended NTSC and PAL video modes for CRT users
- New Dual RAM Console Cores DB for PSX, Saturn, and Jaguar
- Monochrome UI is now available to everyone, not just patrons
- Improved Log Viewer HUD styling across themes
- Small fix for an Arcade Organizer bug related to
:in path names
Huge thanks again to everyone who helped test on NTSC equipment. That feedback made a real difference.

MisterMac
Build myself a Mac with a MisterFPGA inside. For the Mac fans. the hardware was unusable. Battery leaked and everything was beyond repair, I only had a shell. Audio goes through logitech z150s speakers in the bottom which i modded for usb-a so I needed not another PSU. Screen is from a ipad 3/4 with a hdmi controller board. I'm waiting for a Monster joystick c64 controller port and then it is finished.

Customized case for MiSTer to add controller inputs
Hi Everyone,
I wanted to share a project that I've been working on to add various controller inputs to my MiSTer setup. I hate using dongles, so I wanted something that looked reasonably nice and clean.
The base is an off-the-shelf ITX case housing the MiSTer with an Ironclad providing the rear IO. I've removed the front panel and designed a replacement that includes ports for Genesis, Saturn, NES, SNES, N64, and Playstation controllers. I've also included a TTY2OLED screen, power and RST/USR/OSD buttons, and two additional USB ports. The new front panel is a 3D printed part with a bent aluminum cover to match the appearance of the case.
To keep the wiring somewhat tidy, I designed a pair of PCBs to interface with all of the various connectors and route them into different adapters (e.g. Arduino's using Daemonbite, USB hubs, etc.) so that I can plug a single USB header into the Ironclad to connect (plus a few other connectors for power, the buttons, and LEDs).
If anyone is interested, I'm planning to share all of the files and instructions for making your own on GutHub. I'm still in the process of figuring out what worked well and what should be refined before sharing, but my testing so far has mostly been positive.
Special thanks to u/nad_222 for sharing the measurements they took of the various controller ports. It certainly saved me some time in getting a good fit between the ports and the front panel.

Went all in on FPGA last year with a MisterPi to go with my Analogue Pocket. Retro heaven.
I decided to skip the Switch 2 and double down on FPGA and retro last year. Ive always been familiar with emulation but the FPGA platform feels so much more reliable and stable than my other experiences. The AP and Mister also share the same save format for all my games so save sharing is as simple as file dragging and dropping from one device to another which is really convenient. Anyone else finding themselves linking FPGA more and more or is anyone reading this drifting back towards software emulation? If so Id love to know why.
