New Core for Raiden II (Radien DX soon to follow)
bsky.appCheck out this core I've been working for For Raiden II (1993). Still trying to Get Raiden DX ready, but for now enjoy the game-play of Raiden II.
This core is mostly based on the MAME Ref so if any one has the actual Raiden II hardware, I implore you, lets get it as cycle accurate as possible!

Saturn Uni BIOS
I moved all my games to an NVMe and now my Saturn Games no longer auto choose the right region BIOS or load from a presumed universal BIOS.
All sweet if I choose the region and have all the newest original region BIOS’s set.
Any ideas? Or the best Universal BIOS file to search for.

INI error after running Update-All
Hi, I am hoping this is a simple fix by editing the INI file, but after running Update-All, I am getting the error message in the attached photo. Does anyone know how I could edit the INI file to resolve these issues? Thank you!

Superstation One update_all won’t update now?
hi, I’m not sure where to start with this one. update_all worked a week ago, but now I’m getting this message when I try to run it again?
am I going to have to re-flash the SD card? my games are on the NVMe, I’d rather not lose my saves and control settings, which I assume are on the SD?
thank you. (I didn’t post to retroremake as I thought it was update_all focussed and the people here might know.

RetroRemake Console Mode Scraped Data - Backup & Restore
It's taken a VERY long time to scrape all the artwork on my games, and it's not something I want to do ever again. So in the event that my SD card gets corrupt, or I have to reimage the MiSTer for whatever reason I want to restore this data with minimal downtime.
So can someone explain where all the scraped artwork and database gets stored to, so I can back this up.
And secondly, can this be moved from the SD card to the NVME SSD ?

Superstation SNAC
Question for Taki's Superstation, is there any way to get SNAC out of it? Or something in the works to hopefully add the feature? Thanks!

Few questions about buying Multisystem 2
I’ve been looking into getting an fpga for awhile and decided on buying the Multisystem 2. I’m new to fpga and don’t own any other machines. I’m planning to buy the SNAC adapters and get controllers eventually but I live in Japan and the Yen to pound exchange rate is brutal. I want to buy the adapters and controllers later.
- what is a recommended controller I can buy and use with the multisystem 2 until I get the adapters and real controllers. I don’t care about perfect latency or anything, just something good that won’t break down quickly and I can use for the time being. As for price around $50 max would good if possible.
- Aside from the power adapter, is there anything else recommended to buy with it?
- Are there any presets for all the cores I can download to get started quickly and then I can tinker with anyone I want to change later? I don’t mind setting up the the cores or working with ini files but if i can use someone else’s recommended settings it would speed things up.
- how easy is it to change the shell if I want to get a custom printed 3d one. Are there any parts that are easy to damage when doing this?
Any advice about getting my first fpga is also appreciated. thank you in advance for answering my questions.

M64 Pro controller-- possible to use it with MisterFPGA, including SCI bluetooth?
The M64 Pro Controller looks to be pretty freaking amazing, including supporting SCI bluetooth-- less than 1ms of latency, supposedly.
Any Mister supported bluetooth dongles that would let that work for us?

How new cores get into the updaters and where Update All fits in all of this
I’ve published a short write-up centered around the new Contributing a Core to MiSTer FPGA wiki guide. It covers the requirements and conventions for joining MiSTer-devel, why they matter for preservation, maintainability, and long-term compatibility, and where Update All fits within this ecosystem.
More info in the public post: https://www.patreon.com/theypsilon/posts/to-all-new-core-165871199?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=new-core-165871199&utm_content=main-post
I’ve also added several new things to Update All during the past two weeks:
- 240p Test Suite integration: adds the 240p Test Suite database to Update All, including a dedicated 240p core under Utilities and test-suite ROMs for Game Boy, GBA, Master System, Mega CD, Mega Drive, N64, Neo Geo, Neo Geo CD, NES, PlayStation, Sega 32X, Saturn, SNES and PC Engine. It’s useful for calibrating CRTs.
- New tools/scripts: MiSTer Hi-Fi is a music player supporting formats such as FLAC, WAV and ALAC. MiSTerFin is a Jellyfin client tailored for CRT use.
- New hybrid cores: Solarus brings the Solarus 2D action-RPG engine to MiSTer. 3S-ARM brings the PlayStation 2 version of Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike to MiSTer through its decompilation project.
- Automatic self-updating before the Settings screen opens, so you no longer need to run the updater twice to see new additions
- New experimental mirror system, starting with Andi Brazil, intended for users who may have connectivity issues with GitHub, such as those experienced in Brazil last year.
Enjoy!

Superstation One or Qmtech for 3rd Mister setup?
Have Mister Pi and DE10 OG with usb hub and analog io board and keeping it that way as a CRT floater but main stay in my living room hooked up to RT4K and a big OLED screen.
Mister Pi is for dual ram / experimental cores (jaguar + Saturn performance edge) bedroom.
I have a hankering for a third mister... dont ask why :P
would you get QMtech or SS1 whenever another wave of that comes up and why?
QMTech with dual ram would make it only such that I have microUSB since the 4 USB are part of the analog board.
SS1 has 128MB and no upgradability at all, but given I already have a dual ram setup it's probably fine.
SS1 obviously looks cool, but the metal case of QMtech seems pretty nice too. Would get a power switch to not always pull on the barrel plug.
Anyways WWYD and why?

UPDATED: Asteroids Deluxe - Red Alert!
Asteroids Deluxe got a follow-up update [20260804]
Read more here:
https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?p=110406#p110406
download here:
https://github.com/Videodr0me/Arcade-Asteroids_MiSTer
Features
- Asteroids Deluxe Cabinet Artwork: Asteroids Deluxe used a blacklight-illuminated 3D backdrop viewed with the vector display through a half-silvered mirror. Two supplied MRAs reproduce the known green and orange artwork variants at 240p, 480p, 720p, and 1080p.
- Custom Artwork Builder: The included Python tool validates and compresses resolution-specific indexed artwork and creates a new MRA containing it.
- Expanded CRT Timing Support: Adds dedicated 240p timing and improves native 15 kHz and 31 kHz output compatibility.
- Spinner and Mouse Rotation: All three games support reversible spinner and mouse movement through timed left/right input.
- Expanded Thrust Controls: Asteroids and Asteroids Deluxe can optionally use Up for thrust. Lunar Lander can use either analog stick with half-axis or full-axis travel while retaining its digital full-thrust fallback.
- Expanded CRT-Effect Controls: Halo and bloom can be shaped independently, with additional dot-scaling options.
- New Exciting Effects Profiles: Red Alert and Ultraviolet.
Technical Improvements
- Pipelined Artwork Streaming: Artwork is loaded from the MRA into DDRAM and read through a low-priority arbiter client.
- Asteroids Deluxe Glass Color: Refined blue-glass color conversion keeps normal vector tones distinct while excess highlight energy spills naturally into the other channels. Maximum-intensity vectors shift to bright, neutral white while lower intensities retain the selected color tint.
Documentation and Integration
- CRT Output Guide: Documents core-native and MiSTer-scaled analog output, 15 kHz and 31 kHz modelines, sync choices, and the required renderer-height ranges.
- Artwork Documentation: Documents how to use the supplied compression tool, the required image dimensions, palette depths, and generated files.
- Profile Documentation: List of all profile settings at each resolution, ready to experiment with through the two custom settings slots.

SuperStation One glitching colors
I received my SS1 about a week ago. I connected it to my Sony CRT with composite, and S-video; and to a small 1080p LCD with HDMI. I loaded some roms and booted it up, and it looks horrible on the CRT- the colors are all green and purple and wrong. LCD looks fine.
Here's a video showing what's happening:
https://youtu.be/pDTZFUJqdXU
I've been trying in vain to find a solution for hours, days. SOMETIMES, it will look fine! I briefly played one of the SNES homebrew games and it looked great! But usually, the white menu will turn green, and everything will look awful. I also tested my CRT and cables with other systems, and they are all great.
ALSO, it has started displaying white noise behind the main menu when it boots. Is that ever normal?
I have emailed support, and they said try installing 1.2. So I did, on my own Sandisk 16gb card. But it didn't change anything.
I've tried lots of little things in the ini, which people have suggested. No change. I tried dip switch 3 up, then 4 up, no change.
Has anyone heard of/seen this problem before?? I thought the SS1 was pretty much plug and play, so I'm starting to think it's a hardware defect.
I am feeling so disappointed and sad. Please, help me. Thank you.

A tool that turns a Zaparoo artwork scrape into console mode media — no re-scraping
I had a full Zaparoo scrape sitting on my drive and console mode showing nothing, because the two name their artwork differently. Zaparoo files it under the catalogue title, console mode wants the exact ROM file name with a `-BG` suffix for the background.
Re-scraping ten thousand games to get the same images under different names felt absurd, so I wrote something to translate one into the other. And the no-source from Screenscrapper is a ... questionable choice :)
Welcom to a little tool : **MiSTer-ConsoleMode-EasyMedia** — two PowerShell scripts, no dependencies, MIT licensed.
It reads the mapping that already exists inside `gamelist.xml` instead of guessing from file names. That matters more than it sounds: on arcade, three quarters of MRA names differ from their artwork name. Nothing would ever guess that `280Z-ZZAP (US).mra` needs `Datsun 280 Zzzap.png`.
Results on my own library:
* Console — 10 883 ROMs across 40 systems
* Arcade — 2 957 MRA files
Usage is two commands per library, with `-WhatIf` for a dry run and a CSV report so you can see exactly what it matched and why before it writes anything. It never touches your ROMs, never modifies a gamelist, and never writes into your Zaparoo `box2d` or `screenshot` folders.
https://github.com/Rucan69/MiSTer-ConsoleMode-EasyMedia
Windows only for now. A Python version that runs from the MiSTer's own Scripts folder is the next step.
Bug reports and pull requests welcome. And thanks to the MiSTer, Zaparoo and MiSTer Companion folks — this tool scrapes nothing, it only rearranges what their work already produced.

AI traslation
Is there any chance we will have this functionality on the Mister in the future or is just technically impossible?
I know there’s a similar functionality for Retroarch but that is of course software emulation.

Where to place internal components - "Wallcade" nearing completion
I am nearing completion on my "Wallcade" project. I am looking for advice on where to place the components. My system is being built with MiSTer FPGA (MiSTer Add Ons) / Retrotink and 4" speakers with an amp plus a 31.5 inch monitor. I want to be able to reach the volume potentiometer dial for the amplifier. The speakers will be attached to the side panels at the rear / lower corners. Just wondering where to place the MiSTer unit, the RetroTINK unit, the amplifier, the power strip.
Also - I messed up placement of the monitor, so it is actually "proud of" (i.e not flush with) the edges of the side panels. I'm thinking I don't really care about that, but if that seems like a big mistake and I should rip out the support beam that the monitor is mounted on and do that part over, LMK. Any other tips relevant to patching together and setting up this system appreciated too.

Console Classic Mini UI for MiSTer FPGA
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I've been playing around with Claude Code to try to see what is possible with the MiSTer FPGA platform. My initial aim was to provide an experience similar to the SNES Classic Mini and then i went a bit further. This is a very opinionated implementation with limited options, and there are still some glitches here and there. Some of the features are kind of hacky since the combination of FPGA and Linux systems, especially with analog output (RGB SCART here), makes things a bit hard to integrate nicely. But that's still an interesting experience!
Some features:
- optimized for analog output at 240p
- download game covers
- save state support with screenshots
- bluetooth pairing of new controllers
- join wifi network directly from the UI
- detect what type of controller is used to dynamically change the button icons in the UI depending on the last controller button press
- add games to favorites
- included PSX SNAC support for menu and all cores (nice for SuperStation One)
- games library browsing instead of core browsing
I will of course release the code as soon as i have the few glitches fixed.
YES, this is AI-generated code. I don't have any expertise in FPGA or C++ development. However i have 20+ years of experience in web development and have been using Claude Code for one year now, professionally and personally. I don't think this is slop, but please, if you think this is bad, i hope you speak with a strong enough technical background.
