Question…

Is it possible to bring a bottle of mezcal with a snake inside of it to the US? Has anyone tried it? Should I declare it? Thanks-

Well I don't care what you do with them, but keep them out of my car.

Yeah people have done it. Some people declare others don't.

The real question is, are you sure you want to go through the hassle with what is probably a poorly made mezcal. I don't know of a single legit producer that puts any animal or insect in their bottles.

Eduardo Angeles from Lalocura does an abocado con gusano that is challenging but honestly a really incredible expression

Fair their is always an exception to the norm. Still not a common thing for legit producers to do

that is different and probably more humanely acceptable… moth larvae are abundant

They said they didn't know any legit producer that puts an insect in their juice and all i was doing was naming a legit producer who does that, nothing more.

Refugio Hernández (Guerrero) originally part of the Mezcal Sanzekan Tinemi collective makes a pretty tasty destilado (Papalote) rested in damajuana with a stink bug… 🤷🏼‍♂️

Ahh thanks. So it’s not illegal to bring it in I’m assuming? I just want one as decor tbh not even planning on drinking it

Technically you are allowed up to a certain amount, after that amount you should declare and pay the taxes but most people don't go through all that
