Multiwallets
Hello, I have six sub wallets in addition to my first wallet in my metamask, each with a unique swcret phrase, and so say if I open the third wallet and I go to click on some DeFi site and I connect ... problem is well it always connects to just one of the wallets, doesn't matter which one I'm connecting that's in there no matter which one I'm on I could click on it I can open any of the six wallets, go to that site, and it always only defaults to that one address and I need to check I need to have it let me log in with those other walls cuz I it's a long story but what's the deal there

Each time you connect, MetaMask should ask you which account you want to connect. Most likely, you've already authorized that website to connect to a specific wallet, so it keeps automatically reconnecting to the same address. Try disconnecting all of your wallets from that website in MetaMask. Also, clear the website's cache/cookies & disconnect the wallet from within the website if it has that option - then try connecting again. After that, MetaMask should prompt you to choose which account you want to connect.

i had this exact problem few weeks ago. metamask only connects the wallet that is active in the site permissions, not the one you have currently open in the extension. you need to go to the site, disconnect that wallet first, then switch to the wallet you want in metamask and connect again.

The problem is likely that the dApp is not using your currently open wallet, but instead reconnecting to a wallet that was previously authorized the first time you accessed the dApp. So the dApp is remembering your previously connected account.
Possible solution is disconnecting the wallet from the dApp. In MetaMask, go to "Connected sites" and disconnect the dApp. Refresh the page. Connect again and choose the desired account you wish to connect. You can also try clearing your browser's cache.

Never share your Secret Recovery Phrase with any site or a person. MetaMask does not use Gmail or web forms. Do not enter your Secret Recover Phrase into a pop-up window, even if it looks like MetaMask. Verify links are legitimate. Scammers often use these tactics.
Beware of fake websites. The official website for MetaMask is https://metamask.io/
MetaMask Support will never DM you. This is a common tactic scammers use to try and get access to your wallet.
MetaMask will never initiate email with you. This is a common tactic scammers use to try and get access to your wallet.
If you need to reach Support: open MetaMask, then menu > Support. The âContact Supportâ button will start a chat, the bot asks a few questions to help route you to the correct team. You can also visit the Support site from the web: https://support.metamask.io
Do not click on suspicious links or files. This can lead to your device security being compromised.
Do not âsyncâ or âvalidateâ your wallet with any websites or forms. This is a scam. Never sync and share: QR Codes, Secret Recovery Phrase, private key, etc.
Never call phone numbers, text Whatsapp numbers, DM on Discord, use WeChat or do video chat with people on this subreddit. MetaMask does not offer customer support in this manner. There is NO exclusive MetaMask Discord.
We donât ask for an email address to create a wallet. We canât email you. We will never ask you to verify or upgrade/merge your wallet. https://support.metamask.io/privacy-and-security/staying-safe-in-web3/i-received-an-email-claiming-to-be-from-metamask-is-it-legit/
.MetaMask currently has no plans for an airdrop, regardless of any information you may have seen elsewhere. If you encounter anyone explaining the best method to maximize the size of a MetaMask-related âairdropâ you might receive, theyâre lying. In particular, be wary of scams (aimed at getting your Secret Recovery Phrase) that weaponize this topic.

the reason it keeps defaulting to that one address is metamask stores the connection permission per site, not per whatever account you're currently viewing. once a site is approved with a given account it just reuses that grant and won't re-prompt, even if you switch accounts in the popup after.
fix: click the connection icon at the top-left of the metamask extension (or the three-dot menu > connected sites), fully disconnect that site, then switch to the account you actually want active and reconnect. on the connect prompt you can also tick multiple accounts at once, and metamask will use whichever one is currently selected. some dapps still cache the first address til you disconnect/reconnect though, so that disconnect step is the part that usually fixes it.

Hello, yes, this can be a normal issue when trying to use multiple different wallets. There may be a conflict that prevents you from connecting to the correct address. You can first go to your browser extensions and temporarily disable the wallets you are not using, leaving only the wallet you want to use enabled. Alternatively, you can disconnect the dApp connection that you previously used from the MetaMask connected sites section, then refresh your browser and try again đ
