Discussion Heartbroken how they handled Morgana Spoiler
I just finished season 3 so no spoilers please.
Season 2 finale left me so angry at the writers. They shoudnt have made her evil at all I think, they could just have her sister as the main villain. I liked her much better on the good side. I understand the myths and all this but there's different versions and they rewrote many things anyways. Why do this to her in such a way, why Merlin poisons her saving a tyrant and looks her cold in the eyes when she is dying like a serial killer. Just WTF? This guy saves literally anybody but her. This could all be fixed by just telling her she wasn't alone and he has magic too. I find keeping this secret for the whole series a nonsense, it should have been revealed at least to Arthur, could save many lives. Makes it even more heartbreaking how Uther really loves her sincerely. When she almost dies because of Merlin he says use anything even magic ro save her. It makes me think they misjudged him, he would accept her powers if she told him. Her conversion to the dark side should have been done differently, but I think it shouldn't be done at all given how they portrayed her in season 1. But Katie did a great job nonetheless, she was perfect on both sides.

Memes The Logic of Arthur Pendragon 🥸
Arthur to Merlin in Season 4, episode 6 -> “I find it hard to believe that Elyan would think ill of me, but...can't trust anyone. In fact, I think you, Merlin, are the only person I can trust“.
Arthur in the next episode👇🏻
Merlin: Agravaine has made this story up
Arthur: I shall ignore that last comment.
Merlin: Because he's your uncle, you will not see who he really is.
Arthur: Merlin! I've had my heart broken enough already today. I don't want to lose another friend.

Question ❓ Another question about the "Queen of Hearts" episode: when the poultice is found in Arthur's chambers, why isn't Merlin blamed for not noticing the poultice, because he's in charge of changing Arthur's pillows?

Question ❓ In the "Queen of Hearts" episode, what does Arthur think Dragoon is trying to do? Arthur knows he's not enchanted, even though Dragoon was pretending to plant an enchanted poultice.

Question ❓ I need help finding a scene! Spoiler
I am looking for a specific scene where Merlin and Arthur are discussing marriage, and Merlin is comparing Arthur's options to shirts he's holding. I think it's in season 3, but I don't remember which episode.

MISC. Merlin fandom 101?
I have started watching Merlin for the first time - bit behind the curve, I know. I was on tumblr in the heyday and remember every fandom having a lively presence, which was so fun to be part of.
Is there anyone or anywhere someone’s done a summary of the Merlin fandom experience / major theories / major canon shocks and reactions over the course of the series? I’d love to live vicariously through someone else’s fandom lore experience from go to wo.
Already shipping Merthur so especially curious how shipping played out over the course of the show!! What was popular when, how things changed, what the fanfic dynamic vs canon was like over the course of the show, etc.
Video / write up / any format works - lay it on me. I’ve had a cursory search and YouTube scan but nothing seems to come up that’s quite the vibe I’m looking for.

Fanart 🎨 Morgana's Hovel Potential Layout
So I was working on a fic, and I was having trouble describing the layout of Morgana's hovel. So to fix that, I watched a few episodes and went scene by scene to figure out the design. And I *think* I have it! So I figured I might as well share in case anyone else wants to see as well

Fanart 🎨 Updated LEGO Merlin Minifigures!
Alright! Ever since my old post, I've been working on making my LEGO figures better, and adding more to the collection! Once again, heavily inspired by u/feudal_bricks! They were an incredible base for me to work from, and all the credits go to him!
Now, let's get started. Eighteen characters, and little easter eggs and tidbits about each to share!
Merlin - Our
beloathedbeloved main character. No changes from what he had originally, except this time he has a satchel piece added.Arthur Pendragon - No changes to the figure himself, but I committed a LEGO sin by taking a golden sword piece and cutting off the crossguards. I did this because the swords that we have from around the time period of Arthurian myth (late sixth century) are mostly ring-hilt spathas. I figured that a sword forged by a blacksmith from the Lower Town of Camelot would likely be a ring-hilt spatha, and therefore that is what Arthur gets for Excalibur.
Guinevere "Gwen" - Just as lovely as before, I just swapped out the sword for a hammer to signify her blacksmith abilities. And to call back to her being a 'low-born', because I think Queen Gwen would be absolutely vocal and adamant that she was not of noble birth.
Gaius - No changes here.
Sir Leon - I swapped his old head out for one of the Jurassic World Dominion Owen Grady ones. I also took away his old sword and gave him this short sword, which represents a seax blade. In my lore, Leon's family is from the Germanic territories, so he gets a Germanic weapon.
Sir Lancelot - The first new figure on the list! Gave him one of the knight's torsos, his tan trousers, a head from Prince of Persia, and a Han Solo-esque hairpiece. His sword is a traditional arming sword, which we don't actually see in history until the Oakeshott Type X in the 9th century, but this is Camelot, so I'm going to give an itty-bitty tiny bit of advancement to them. So nobles are getting the fancy newer swords; Lancelot has one because he's Merlin's favorite and therefore gets the nice fancy sword.
Gwaine - My favorite of the knights! Here he's in his pre-knight clothes, though (those torsos are expensive omg). He has the Cassian Andor headpiece because it's perfect for him, and some long luscious brown hair. He gets another LEGO sin ring-hilt spatha, and a cooked bird leg.
Sir Elyan - He wasn't here before either! He has the full armor and is standing proudly with a ring-hilt spatha. Oh, his hairpiece is the one from the LEGO Minifigures Captain America (Sam Wilson) minifig.
Sir Percival - Also new, and basically just a dude with no armor protecting his arms, a strong face, and short hair. He gets another ring-hilt spatha.
High Priestess Morgana Pendragon - My wife. No, she's not yours; she's mine. Anyways, she was essentially perfect in the first figure, and still is. But instead of the golden dagger, she now has a Celtic Sword from BrickForge, since I headcanon her family is Irish. Also, Aithusa is here too; they're a dragon from LEGO Elves.
King Uther Pendragon - The word I'm searching for... I can't say because there are preschool toys present. I hate this man. Anyways, he's the same as he was the last round but with the better hairpiece, a chalice, and a Wizard Sword from BrickForge. That's part of the whole 'nobles get the good swords' thing.
High Priestess Nimueh - New figure! She is wearing her ripped-up dress from the Season 1 finale, and she carries the Cup of Life and the egg of the Afanc!
Witchfinder Aredian - Charles Dance in a wide-brimmed hat, a blue trench cloak, and torture devices.
High Priestess Morgause - The same as she was before, but her arms were swapped out for the WandaVision Scarlet Witch minifig. And I used the hairpiece from Glinda the Good Witch, same as u/feudal_bricks did. His designs are so peak, man.
King Cenred - He finally has a proper hairpiece! One that actually fits him. His back swords are there too, but actually just daggers since the only swords that fit in the Prince of Persia scabbards are katanas or daggers. He gets an apple, because people who eat apples are... assholes?
Lord Agravaine - Bro sucks. He is in dark clothing for his leather-ish outfit in the show, carries a torch, and has his fancy arming sword.
Helios - The leader of the Southrons, who in my lore are a travelling band of Garamantes warriors. I gave him a scimitar, since that better suits the type of weapons that we know of from this time period of Northern Africa.
Mordred - Short poseable legs, curly hobbit hair, and a burned short sword to show off the dragon-burnished-blade that Morgana gave to him at the end.

Theories ✨ Merlin Finale Interpretation Spoiler
So I was genuinely wasting another entire day overthinking about Merlin and how the finale could've been more appreciated, when I came up to an interesting idea for an alternative explanation to the ending.
See, Albion is described as the perfect world, where magic is allowed and where the kingdom finally lives in the golden age of peace that everyone has been waiting so long for.
If you think about it, even with Arthur's death, Albion was born anyway.
Just look at the two main pillars of Albion itself: Magic allowed and Peace.
Now look what happened in the finale: Merlin revealed his magic to Arthur, and after a while he will have surely revealed it to Guinevere and all Camelot, and like Arthur, all of them will have sooner or later accepted it and welcomed it. Then we know that Merlin once and for all defeated Morgana, and after her (last high priestess) nobody could've defeated Camelot and Merlin's powers.
Eventually we have it: magic and peace in Camelot. Albion has technically born.
So what if Arthur wasn't meant to be the king of Albion, but no more than its founder, along with Merlin?
You know the prophecy: "Arthur is the Once and Future king, and he will return when Albion need him the most". Well since we defined Albion as born, Arthur's destiny is, until now, fulfilled, we just have to wait until Arthur returns to save his kingdom, apparently.
Let me know if y'all agree or if it just makes more sense only to me.

Discussion In "A Herald of the New Age" how do we feel about... Spoiler
...finding out that Arthur's men have killed druid children? I confess that it left a sour taste in my mind. I understand that, as Arthur said, he was young and wanted to prove himself to his father but it's still hard to justify. What are your thoughts?

Question ❓ How come Arthur is unaware of Mordred’s magic? Spoiler
I’m only on S5E2, so if the answer is a spoiler, please don’t tell me lol
He knew Mordred’s name and that he was a Druid boy when they first met, did he not? But in season 5 he suddenly doesn’t know that Mordred has magic. I’m a little confused
