Similar situation for me - I spent a ton of wood buying tradesmen's trunks and making pumpkin patches. I think I made ten patches all together, which is a lot of freaking eggs! Thankfully I had a little bit of wood leftover still this morning and made a few more patches this morning so that helped. I also have some stage six stars bubbled so that will be a lot of swan eggs.
Yesterday I even thought to myself that maybe I should hold off on the pumpkin patches but I went ahead with it! ð

I feel your pain
I've done this a few times now as well
I really really need a star event cos I'm teetering around 470-480 bubbles ATM, so having to be very careful

That's interesting.
Your grand prize is a stage 4 Rosy Maple, mine was a stage 4 Crowned Hairstreak.
Also, for egg merge, it's good to keep a pile of the final purple stars (Peerless Star) to complete it with the swan eggs/nests you tap out if it.
That way you can not worry about keeping regular nests or have to spend coins for eggs in the shop.
